Coach Critics--What Are Your Complaints After this Game?

Not enough middle screens........

Honestly, the main thing that still concerns me in the long run is the field goal/PAT game. Decent day yesterday, with only the 1 block, but it is still a concern.

Overall, a great day. A healing day. Which required another "healing" day today.... :puke:

Too many dumb penalties need to work on that. I did like it when Josh Dennard was flagged for being the neutral zone (he was actually up on the receiver in press coverage). Didn't see enough of that last year.
You like that penalty?

That was literally the dumbest penalty all game, a tight pressed corner should always check with the line judge before the snap.

Apparently Rosenfraud was the cancer that infected the whole coaching staff last year? ;)

And I remember a few posters (not you GP) jumping all over me when I vented frustrations on here with him.

Not really a Complaint, but I would like to see us come out at half and score. 3 and out after half is really going to bite us this year.

Well, you are obviously in the minority. Most fans continue to feel it is not important to come out and play well at the start of the second half, and if they do, they can do it without the support of their butts in the seats. Tail gaiting continues to be more important than the game for way too many. :|

This discussion is well beyond a trend or pattern...and it should be talked about on a different thread. There is no doubt about late 2nd and early 3 rd quarter scoring. However, the GSA beer garden is run "ATROCIOUS". I really can't f.....g believe they still don't have... even a SMALL grip on this. :egriz:

On TV, I noticed that the seats were pretty vacant through most of the 3rd quarter. I was hoping that the fans would have been more excited to get back in after half, but sadly I don't think that's going to change this year.

With such a small population base, the cost of having the stadium sold out is also having a significant number of socialites in the stands. To them, a large portion of the fun is just being there seeing and being seen. Incidentally, the game seems to be OK to them too. You can wish that everyone was hard-core or at least like-minded with you. The fact is that if the Griz need to have the stands packed with their fans to get gong in the second half then they will be really in trouble on the road. The coaches need to remind the players it is going to be kind of quiet in the second half and they are going to have to make their own energy.

The only concern I had was that there were four minutes left in the game and clearly the game was over at that point and we had all of our starters still out there. In fact I believe they played until victory formation. You shouldn't chance an injury in that situation.

For a significant number of season ticket holders Griz games are just an excuse for attending the state's biggest cocktail party. They really couldn't care less about the competition or the score...

I saw great improvement in coaching in all categories compared to last year. Despite some miscues ST play was the most gratifying. Only one long return after the game was out of reach and one blocked PAT but much much much improved over last year.

The one thing I would like to see more emphasis on however is tackling technique in the secondary. While coverage was improved and there were very few times, comparatively speaking, that a receiver got deep I thought the secondary tackling was suspect.

For those that are there for that. Donate your damn tickets to kids that will make noise, or avid football fans. That way everyone wins. Seriously is disappointing, our team cannot rely on our fans for the 3rd quarter.

I LOVE beer.

But I love great football even more. No way was I leaving and risk missing an opportunity to bloody my lungs yelling.

There is a solution to the lack of people back in their seats after the half, but it's easier said than done. Allow beer sales throughout the stadium not just in the club.

Also... Lower the ticket prices so that the real fans can come out to support our team. I know a lot of die hard Griz fans but they just can't afford to drop 60 bucks for a ticket. Its getting pretty outrageous. 60 bucks for an FCS football game.. There are just way too many people there just to be there cuz they can afford it.. JMO

Until that happens - GET YOUR BUTTS BACK IN THE STADIUM BY KICKOFF!

To me, halftime is plenty of time to get in a few beers, some good food, and still be back in the seats. Seriously, there are no legitimate excuses for not being back in time for kickoff. I have a few friends who will not even go out if the game is close or the opposition has momentum ending the 1st half. That was certainly the case against App State. GRIZ were fortunate, App State should have made that game closer in the 3rd quarter.

There's little more to be said than that!!!

Delaney deserves credit for the "ball control" game plane. You can call it "Bobby Ball" if you'd like but it worked in this game against this team.

Nothing against the coaches. The only thing to bitch about was how in the hell did the stat guy gave JJ's fumble to T Van???? What the f*** game was that guy watching
