Chalich to be a Griz

The injury sustained by Chalich was to his shoulder of his throwing arm, which was considered a season-ending injury, so I don't know to what extent that affects his passing these days. Hope he has fully recovered, regardless of whether he joins the Griz or otherwise: < http://www.idahostatesman.com/2014/04/24/3151264/embracing-the-qb-battle.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
It was a season-ending injury last year.

He did start and did very well until he got injured...Petrino benched him every time he ran out of bounds instead of lowering his head. He didn't get a fair shot this year. Linehan was Petrino's recruit and has the last name and it's obvious that he was starting him no matter what. The only win Idaho has had this year was when Linehan went out with a concussion early in the first quarter and Chalich took over. Chalich is a great quarterback and a warrior and you guys are lucky to get him.

As a redshirt freshman; you have to like that!

Welcome to the board Vandal2000! Your insight is certainly appreciated here.

My only thought is: May the best QB win!

Yeah, O.K., did anyone say anything different?

The link I provided is dated 24 April 2014 wherein it is stated that..'Chad said his shoulder has been tired "here and there," which Petrino expected when he spoke before spring practices.' That would have meant that Chalich's shoulder injury was sustained in the prior season (2013-14), as you say 'last year,' which is already acknowledged; the way I read it. Not this year (2014-15), as shown by his statistical array of playing in four out of Idaho's first ten games.

The player bio provided by govandals.com would have clarified that, I would have thought. That is to say, in repeating myself: http://www.govandals.com/ViewArticle.dbml?ATCLID=205371950" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Besides which, for furthur verification: http://idaho.scout.com/story/1470444-vandals-win#/story/1470444-vandals-win" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ...wherein it (dated 18 October 2014) is stated that:..."In stepped sophomore Chad Chalich, a starter for the Vandals last fall (season of 2013-14) before suffering a season ending shoulder injury in the sixth game." That would have been against Fresno State in a game played 05 October 2013, if not mistaken.

Seems to me what kind of QB you want depends on what system you run....so this years staff might not be the ones who will determine that. Better get a staff hired first and well ahead of crucial recruiting periods to come
