I know nothing of the specifics of the situation but if any of the comments on here are accurate then it is reasonable to assume some of the following may have prompted this change;
A) As a new coach Stitt was obligated to retain Ty for some continuity. He may want his own guy.
B) If there was tension (likely) then each may have been wanting a change anyway.
C) Ty's wife just got a job in Bozeman. This could explain his jumping over to little brother.
D) Coach Choate needs huge instant help. Finding a decent D coach with Big Sky experience is huge.
E) Despite the talk, Choate doesn't have MT connections (beyond playing at Western). Ty does.
F) Cat's defense was worst in the nation. IF TY DOES ANYTHING HE WILL LOOK GOLDEN.
G) Ty probably got a pay raise and a great resume builder showing he can turn a defense around.
Gregorak did a good job in Missoula and always had a decent defense. On the other hand he also had some exceptional talent. With this he consistently fielded a good defense but not a great one. I hope he does well in Bozeman. I expect he will make their D respectable again. This will help him if he wants to climb the coaching ladder.
Ty is a good coach and I'm sorry to see him go, especially to Bozeman. Yet as I began this post, "Whatever".
I think what I'll miss most is the guy's passion on the sidelines. I'm confident we will find another defensive coordinator who can take the talent on the Grizzlies sideline and field a solid defense.
1982 hits on a great point. Ty has a new(er) wife, who played for the Cats. (Did I see someone say she just took a job there?) Ty has already gone through a divorce. This may have a lot to do with it. Happy Wife = Happier Life???
Not sure if it was the cause, as I have heard the rumors of friction too (caused by both sides). But it was probably a factor, especially if she just got a job there.
Cat wife..shitty life!
I actually spelled it wrong on my first stab at it. Thank goodness for Google Chrome and its advanced lexographical analysis...jodcon said:Htowngriz said:grizindabox said:grizcountry420 said:2011 Griz D ranked: 26th

Some people's demonstration of stellar...is...well....less than stellar....
Just curious, do you get paid for each ellipsis you use? :?
Throwing those fancy words around pretty freely lately, did you get one of those "Word of the Day" calendars or are you reading something more educational than the bullshit on here?

Not "many schools do it," he said "all schools" do it. Anyone comparing the original post made to your "modified" version will easily get it: you lied again.bgbigdog wrote:

"Every" school does not evaluate scholarship athletes every season. As I "attempted" to point out on another thread, this is wrong, and currently among one of the most volatile controversies in college sports. Several schools do now offer four year scholarships; precisely to out-recruit schools that recruit and then cut promising athletes because of coaching "changes" that have nothing to do with the competitor's abilities. The kids want protection from that.
The Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Big Ten Conference (B1G), Big 12 Conference, Pacific-12 Conference (Pac-12), and Southeastern Conference (SEC), all now offer four year schollies. "Between 2002-2011, 99.3% of the top 100 football recruits in the nation chose teams in the power conferences. Historically, over 90% of football teams that finish in the top 25 rankings and over 90% of the basketball teams that make it to the Final Four are from the power conferences."

Indeed, note my specific response:

Are you still going to lie to everyone and try and claim that I said, implied, almost hinted, nearly argued, or came close to ... something I did not, in fact, say, which is about the 20th time you have been caught trolling your dishonest game after your NDSU debacle.
Yeah, "stalking" just like you came over to the basketball threads and started posting about this crap on every thread I was discussing basketball on. You don't just lie when you get shown up, you stalk and then whine when that blows up on you too. After all, I was discussing the fact with another poster that "all" schools do not in fact evaluate scholarships after one year. You butted into that trying to pretend I said something different so you'd have another 12 posts to argue about something. "Stalking?" You're the king because you're a sore loser.grizindabox said:still have no idea what "my" NDSU debacle was....seriously...quit stalking me...

How about you two take your 'pitching vs. catching' debate elsewhere? I hate having to log in to avoid reading your pissing match in every thread. If you could, that would be great. Mkay? Or not. Whatever. Carry on.
