Center snap to QB

ATLANTA GRIZ1 IS exactly right. the center snap to the quarterback is A f***[*] TOOL to get the offense off on the right foot. If we can't execute it PROPERLY, we are in for a world of hurt. Anyone who disagrees is FIT FOR A MENTAL INSTITUTION.

At the scrimmage yesterday, the qb's took all snaps under center. No low snap problems at all. No slow ones either. I'd like to see some fast d-end steal those naps.

Say it ain't so. Oh will I never see the fly sweep if this keeps up.

That's great news. I WAS hoping that was KIND OF the situation. THINKING ahead, MAYBE we will have a good exchange. PEOPLE need to understand that the quarterback MIGHT need to ONLY make one READ. Not sure about THE ALL CAPS.

How could this be any better?

I suppose it might be better if people got it. :thumb:

Sorry I am late to this very important topic. I have it on good authority, our center will now start snapping to the QB. Crises over.

Ok, from a fan of another team here that doesn't have a dog in the fight. It is not a bad thing that the ball floats back to the QB. A newer snap technique is for the center to put his hand over the nose of the ball and stand it upright. It floats back to the QB as a knuckle ball, which is much easier for the QB to catch, control, and find the laces - resulting in a quicker release of the pass. The difference in timing is really negligible and may even speed up the entire play when the QB needs to release the ball quickly. A hard spiral snap can be harder to control, and almost always results in a huge loss when a snap flies over the QB's head or wide right/left. The QB has less time to react to a bad snap.

But please, by all means, recommence with the bickering everyone. It's fun to read.

Please. The "knuckle ball snap"???? I'm still laughing! Knuckle balls are the most difficult things to catch, whether baseball or football. How many NFL teams use that method in the shotgun? Anyone who has a clue knows that getting the football into the hands of the QB as quickly as possible is what every O-coordinator is striving for. With the sophisticated blitz packages used today, the QB needs all of the time he can get with the ball in his hands to go through his progressions. Floating the snap is NOT a plus, and no team in the country would choose that method to snap the ball.

Atlanta,

I think I can speak for most of us. Your continual negative posting is borderline moronic. We all get that you have concerns, (but I think you have other motives) but you are filling the board with constant drivel. Since you could not take the hints I sent you I leave you with this...

Mr. Atlanta,
What you've been posting are some of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever seen. At no point in your rambling, incoherent posts were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this forum is now dumber for having read them.

I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

8th grade drivel. Stay with obsessing about recruiting. You do a good job there, but violate the First Amendment as a moderator. I could give a sh*t if you like me, hate me, or think I am negative. I have just as much right to post my thoughts on here as you do. You are not elected, you are a volunteer. Don't let the title go to your head.

This is a privately-owed internet forum. Why do you think you're entitled to post here? You some kind of librul or somethin?

The individuals banning me do not own this board. They are VOLUNTEERS, and have no more rights than any of us. Yet they think they do. Pretty sad when someone who should be an equal thinks he has the right to be a superior.

As a privately owned board, they/he/she/it could ban you because its 2:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon. I doubt they would be that chickenshit, though. Remember, keep to football or basketball, and argue whatever points you want appropriate to the forum. Drop any personal attacks, even as THEY, and there are many, try to bait you into doing so, thus pushing your buttons and getting you banned( not suspended for a short time ). Whats past is prologue. With that, go for it. :D

I'm concerned that the increased particulate matter in the air from the fires will slow down the snap even more. At times it might even appear that the ball is moving backward in time, much as the world did when Superman saved Lois Lane.

Not to mention the Bison and their time traveling D-Line. :x

Funny stuff! As I said, you should get an agent and quit handling yourself..........

I hear you Craig Statler. But it chaps my arse that these pin heads get a free pass to post anything they want, but I would be instantly banned if I made the same post.

Who is Craig Statler?

What is REALLY is that my original post saying that the snaps are a concern, has been confirmed by at least two other posters who have discussed the topic with Griz coaches, just as I have. Yet, the pin heads keep embarrassing themselves in this thread. They no game. They should just stay out of threads talking football, and concentrate commenting the Monte threads, who has the fattest fans, NDSU or UM, or complaining about the uniforms.

Stitt said if doesn't straighten out they will go in a different direction....not sure if he means player, or maybe just snap it forward to eliminate any offense at all since this way is not tearing up the field

Yes it is a problem. However, do you realize, Growler (or whatever he goes by), throws things at a wall, and once in a great while something sticks to that wall? He is all doom and gloom when it comes to the GRIZ, when they struggle a few games or even a whole season, he feels he is justified. Honestly, I see some of the outlandish crap he throws out as nothing more than "Even a broken clock is right 2x's per day." He is wrong and off base much more often than he is right.
