One of my friends has a contest of "How many towns have you had a beer in" I was WAY ahead about 5 years ago with 171 (I quit drinking, so now they are catching up)... We have a "Canadian Rules" Shuffle Board table, that we purchased from the Dirty Shame Saloon in the Yak, in my main office in Bozeman (Took a flat bed trailer, 3 of us, and about 2 30 packs to get it out the door up there). 5th generation Montanan (I believe, could be more). The family farm is still outside of Chester, and was homesteaded in 1888... And I will STILL never be as Montanan as ANYONE from Butte... EVER!!

Is that only Montana towns you're counting?

The ncaa makes enough off of FBS/BCS and mens basketball to cover everything else they can pay for the tournament and quit bitching about it.

I'm pretty sure the March Madness tournament accounts for most of the money brought in by the NCAA to fund everything else. Bowls and other money from FBS related things tend to go back to the conferences rather than the NCAA.

I'm probably wrong but I felt like the side of the bracket with EWU, Montana, etc. was probably the most lopsided in recent history.

I mean we really did. It was my senior year of college, and I recall being very nervous to face Georgia Southern in the second round; then New Hampshire pulled off the improbable. Not only did they upset the Eagles, but it was never close. That was also the first year of lights at Washington-Grizzly I believe, and one of the best playoff atmospheres I recall.

We got Sczured in Chattanooga...so unfortunate. Are you thinking of the Tuba guy, who used to always dance around? Or someone else?

You're right, that was the year of the terrible field in Chattanooga, and the "punch" heard round the world.

I don't remember that trombone player being lowered from the rathers. That would have been pretty awesome to watch!

what, no avon, elliston, the one in between them, frontier town, sam white's mountain bar on mcdonald pass? highway 12 used to have lot's of stops on the way to garrison (which had two bars, sort of). you also seem to be missing deborgia, the 50,000 silver dollar bar, and a few others. are you sure you didn't just forget these places?

In the 70's I wasn't of age, and in the 80's I was gone in the Navy. Not much "highway" drinking for me (at least as an adult)... :lol:
