Can we beat ND State?

My point remains: can we beat the #1 team in the country? I'm starting to think we might!

It is just my observation, but try beating a team with a winning record prior to crowning yourselves Champs.... :thumb:
Again, if we had lost to them they would all have winning records

SDSU may be an early test to the supposedly invincible Bison.....but UNI could be the doorstop....

Outside of those games nothing challenging

Why?

Just in case you’ve missed out on the infinite wisdom of this message board.

There are three entities that could beat NDSU.
1) Themselves
2) Alabama
3) God

#2,3 are probably a coin flip.

Of course. As could several other teams.

NDSU is one of those teams that almost always comes out on top when the going gets tough, but they are not invincible if you bring it until the final gun, like they do. Make more plays in the final 10 minutes of the game and they can be beaten, just like any other great team.

2012 results include their only loss was 14-17; but also telling were five of their wins by scores of 23-17, 21-17, 20-17, 14-7, and 23-20.

I agree our next two games against the Rabbits and the Putty tats will really show us how good this team is this year, but there will definitely be a couple more challenging games....namely S. Illinois and The Guins. The Salukis always seem to play us tough, but then fall apart at the end of the game and we squeak by them. Also the majority of the time Youngstown has also played us tough. As for the the original posters question...after watching the Griz in the first few games I would have to say hell ya you could beat us, but it would take playing extremely well coupled with no errors(ie turnovers), I would also say that about our odds of beating the Griz as well. Lets all hope we get to find out for sure what would happen if the Bison and Griz square off this year

I didn't realize you had to actually beat teams in order to be crowned champion. See EWU's 2010 playoff run

Yes. After E. Wa kicks them with the flying QB we have a good chance.

If we make it to the finals ND or EEEEwaaa will be on our plate.

Lets play a few more games (all of us) then let us begin to crow.

I will say it again: "We Griz could go all the way" Big "could" But we just might as we have most of the stuff we need to win the whole thing! One big thing is no Florio.

This is just getting better and better and as we keep winning it looks sugar sweet/sweeter.

One thing I am counting on is the win over msu. Yeah I have marked that down as a win.

Damn, this season is so much more fun than last years disaster.

Is our defense better than their option offense?

The old saying goes, a good defense wins games. Our defense should be stout this year (with the exception of the secondary) and our O should produce fireworks.

Can we win it all?

I love the precious optimism of this guy......

The Bison defense just held the leading rusher in the FCS to 8 carries for 4 yards and SDSU had -32 yards rushing as a team and a total of 124.

It would be a great matchup for sure.

In Wa-Griz I would call it a toss-up in Fargo no way the Bison lose.

We were just manhandled in every aspect vs our first actual opponent, not even a special one. You get up every week to prove you're the champions. We show up to conference games to repossess a shadow of our former selves, and refuse to take free points when down 14-3 before the half like teenagers playing Madden for the first time with no concept of the fact that we have no viable lanes or schemes for a defense that is stuffing us, nearing a 20 minute half-time designed exclusively to recuperate and find an answer for this. (Much like the amateur behind the controller with a shocked look on his face, we turned it over for 98 yards and a touchdown; 21-3).

We just scored as many touchdowns for our opponents as our own team. In no scenario are we ready for the Bison. Our program has an accountability complex and keeps giving us interim coaches. This league holds us in exalted respect and doesn't understand that the foundations are still pending. There is, however, a chance we can have this discussion again in November.
