i hate the spelling police as much as the next guy, but nuteral and nutural (twice!) in the same paragraph is too good not to point out!

I'm "nootral" on this grammar stuff. ;)

Blocking Below the Waist
ARTICLE 6. There shall be no blocking below the waist (Rule 2-3-2) (A.R.
9-1-6-I-VII).
Exceptions:
1. Against the runner.
2. Before a change of possession on scrimmage downs that do not include
kicks, blocking below the waist is allowed as follows:
(a) Players of the offensive team who at the snap are:
(1) On the line of scrimmage more than seven yards from the middle
lineman of the offensive formation; or
(2) In the backfield with any part of the body outside the tackle box; or
(3) In motion;
may block below the waist only along a north-south line (Rule 2-12-9) or
toward the sideline adjacent to them at the snap
.
(b) Players of the offensive team who at the snap are completely inside the
tackle box or on the line of scrimmage inside the seven-yard limit may
block below the waist.
(c) Players of the defensive team who at the snap are inside the blocking
zone extended to the sideline may block below the waist inside that area
until the blocking zone disintegrates (Rule 2-3-6-b) except against a
Team A player in position to receive a backward pass.

Seemed like every time Poly ran a play to Kantangota'a's side that he ended up taking blocks right to the knees, they called a penalty on it once, why was it called just the one time if they did it the whole game? I am not sure what the rules are on blocking like that, but we are lucky he didn't get hurt. I saw him motion to the refs a few times. Can someone with rules knowledge inform me on this subject?

Whatever they were doing was working, they made JP pretty much a non-factor for a lot of the game (until late of course when he made two great, key tackles in a row)

I can't say I know for sure but I am willing to believe the outside in block was made illegal specifically because PSU used to coach it. I saw the Griz play PSU in Hillsboro stadium when they put their wide receiver in motion and at the snap he dove right into Sevrin Campbell's knees. As dirty a play as you'll ever see.

That non-factor was credited with 16 tackles and they were not all late.

JP played BY FAR his best game of the season. His position had to take on that damn cut block all day long. He got chopped to the ground at least 30 times, and yet he had 16 stops, including a huge one in overtime. The Griz linebackers are out there ALOT. JP had to be a tired and sore man Sunday morning.

16 stops huh? Well, I stand corrected. Just seemed he was really struggling, but I guess not. One of my favorite players by the way. I think I was probably looking for play from the LBs that wasn't really realistic against that offense.
