Black Out Game 9/6 vs. Central Washington

Time to bring WA Griz into the 21st Century and get those LED lights with black lights. The possibilities would be endless with pre-game, in-game, and postgame activities. C'mon Denny Washington, time to go big!
You really want to put more electrical stress on a stadium that regularly has random sections of the LED ribbon board go out, has issues with the big jumbo tron and the screens flanking it randomly going out, plus the Referee mic only working about 1/3rd of the time? 🤣

I tend to think it’s more of a software issue than electrical. I’ve heard people in the AD bitch about that before and it’s odd to me that they don’t invest in different software so it doesn’t happen.

Fix the issues at the same time. You have to keep improving or else you will get left behind.

Wa-Griz is in desperate need of lots of upgrades of which lighting probably doesn't make the top 10...
"Desperate"? I don't think so. Sure, Wa-Griz could use some fixes and improvements. But it's still better than pretty much any other FCS venue, and probably 80-90% of most FBS venues. We should always hope for improvement, but let's also properly appreciate what we have.

Sorry to disagree, I certainly appreciate all that Wa-Griz is especially after visiting quite a few other stadiums over the the years but lets get a grasp on the fact that the stadium we all love needs some care. Press box, stadium sound system, restrooms, concession areas just to name a few ... doesn't take away from the fact it's still the best t place to play in the FCS but reality is that some upgrades are "desperately"needed! Being the best doesn't mean you get to forget the upkeep...

I can understand upgrades being needed for the press box, but I am missing what upgrades are needed with the sound system, restrooms, concessions... those to me are just fine. I don't need a luxurious bathroom to take a 3-minute bathroom break.

The sound system has no bass and there is noticeable distortion at high volume.

The concourses, bathrooms and concessions were designed to handle the original 1995 stadium capacity. With the exception of the restrooms/concessions in the Majestic Plaza addition, none of these areas have been upgraded during the various stadium expansions and Haslem has stated they actually need people to exit the stadium to tailgate at halftime, to prevent the bathrooms and concessions areas from being overrun.

My guess is it may be licensing and/or cost prohibitive. If it isn't, it may be expensive enough that they'd have to go to bid and do the RFP process which is lengthy (like a 2 month minimum). That's my roughish guess based on the squinting from 20,000 ft view.

Interestingly, Central plays almost all of their home games at night, with the exception of the August 28 game, when it will be 107 degrees with 48 mph winds in Ellensburg at 1:00 pm.

It’s all about perspective. I recall a mid-1980s business trip to Chicago. Wrigley Field had no lights, so I had to blow off an afternoon conference session to go see the Cubs. And during the Budweiser break in the action, you got to pee in a twenty foot long trough with your friends and neighbors. Yet, Wrigley was/is considered a Mecca.

Pissing in a trough is the gold standard for a next level dive bar. Beats the hell out of pissing in a floor length urinal in shorts and sandals.
