Could we add Carroll ? Seems like they have a pretty good QB.Think about the possibilitiesWe need to add another team, yes. What team would you realistically want to add?

Seems pretty obvious that nothing will be settled until the final group of "educational institutional" sponsored pro league is determined. No one knows how much TV revenue will go where until it's settled. You'd have to think all the existing agreements have clauses dealing with the possibilities. Will the BIG and SEC take the cream of the ACC and Big 12 and kick the rest to the curb? Who knows, how greedy are they? I used to think the final number would be 64 or 80 in the pro league but lately I'm more inclined to think it'll be 32 0r 48. We'll find out soon enough and that's when the sorting out will happen. Seems pretty obvious and I'd assume the athletic department is keeping ears and options open.I don't believe FCS will exist, but I also don't think forming a new football conference now makes the transition any different for UM or MSU moving forward. I think the FCS conferences are going to be split with schools moving in different directions.
I don't know, their history is a little rich for the Big Sky. We should probably just get Northern and be thankful.Could we add Carroll ? Seems like they have a pretty good QB.Think about the possibilities![]()
Not to worry, they're a bit snooty to have interest in the BSC.I don't know, their history is a little rich for the Big Sky. We should probably just get Northern and be thankful.![]()
How would this make any sense? 13 FB members, 11 for basketball and most oly sports? Good lord, if true, Wistrcill is even dumber than I previously thought, which would be rather remarkable actually.
I just saw one tweet (no idea if true or just speculation) that they're also going to add San Diego, move the conference Football schedule to 9 games in 26, and have 12 teams for Basketball. If that happens, then that makes this a little more justified, but if it doesn't then I agree that it's pretty stupid by Wistrcill to stick us with an odd number. How would this make any sense? 13 FB members, 11 for basketball and most oly sports? Back to the weird days when the dunderbirds were part of the big sky for a bit and everybody didn't play everybody in conference....but it was "fine" because who you didn't play could be scheduled as "out of conference" even though they were "in conference" and it wouldn't count toward the "conference" standings. Jesus H. the sad nature is that every conference these days is huge. Hell the ACC and Big 10 have 18 teams. We'll be at 13 and maybe 14 for Football. What we really need in College sports is more conferences but that's not happening anytime soon.Back to the weird days when the dunderbirds were part of the big sky for a bit and everybody didn't play everybody in conference....but it was "fine" because who you didn't play could be scheduled as "out of conference" even though they were "in conference" and it wouldn't count toward the "conference" standings. You could accomplish that with one team, not two. And the odd number makes travel a complete nightmare. Coaches hate it. But then when has this conference ever done anything to benefit the programs or the student-athletes? I'm sure the fat cats get a nice big pay bump with the addition of yet another shitty program.Football will be interesting for a bit due to Davis but there is a chance they may move to the MWC in 2027 or perhaps earlier depending on how the Mediation between the PAC and MWC works out.
Its what I predicted, for Basketball it means 20 Conference games making it easier to schedule OOC opponents and our other Oly Sports they will have enough teams to stay NCAA legal.

Have you met Sac State's president? We lost Sac State and a chunk of our sports failed to meet requirements, adding 2 Geographically friendly schools ensures we have some insurance against any other departures. EWU and PSU come to mind as being potential schools forced to cut sports, maybe Football duebto $$ issues.
Personally this may be odd but I think we should keep Sac as a Football only Member until Davis leaves and have 2 "Pods" for scheduling purposes:
NORTH:
Montana..........MSU
Idaho................ISU
EWU..................PSU
Weber
SOUTH:
UNC.............SUU
UT-Tech........NAU
*Sac.............*Davis
*Cal Poly
* = Football Only
Would be better system then the current "rivals" one and would only be around for a few years until Davis and Sac left. Play your pod every year and 3 from the opposite.
I never said they were realistic. All I said was it would be foolish to not pick up the phone and least gauge interest.I still fail to understand why anyone thought San Diego was ever a realistic possibility…
