BSU would probably block UM as well; they still seem to be pissed about the beatdown we gave them in their last year in the BSC. I agree, I doubt the MWC is really looking to bring in FCS programs; it's nice to dream, but realistically, Idaho is more of a peer of Montana than are most of the MWC members. Not to mention an old rival of 84 meetings. Hence the pickle we're in.NavyBlue said:You can take it to the bank that Idaho has virtually no chance at all of being invited to the MWC. Thier facilities are not up to par, and they have not been winning lately are two reasons. And Boise State would block them. BSU doesn't even want to play the Vandals, there is no way they are going to support Idaho to the MWC.
As far as FCS teams being added there is one and only one team that may have a shot and that is UM. I don't think the MWC wants to be like the Sunbelt and known as a conference that takes schools directly from FCS. Because of UMs history with member schools (especially those in the Mountain Division), it's fanbase, facilities, and winning tradition UM has shot.
NDSU may have a very small chance, but they are hurt, IMO, by being out of the geographical footprint of the league and by having no history with anyone in the conference.
NDSU is probably better suited for the MAC, looking not only at geography, but from where they do most of their recruiting.Bisonation said:NDSU is looking at expanding to 25,000 (maybe even 28,000 with creativity) A full Sold out stadium will look & sound better than the 14,000 at Wyoming or New Mexico in a 40,000 stadium.
NDSU basketball arena is $46 million and will be done next year.
NDSU great track, wrestling and baseball teams. NDSU softball been to super regional. It would help all programs.
Geographically, so what, its a flight 1 time every 2 years for teams.
Wyoming
Air Force
Colorado State
NDSU
Montana
UNLV
would be a sweet conference, imagine playing those teams at home instead of Western Illinois with 2300 or Portland State with 2800 am I right?

You're absolutely right. Except for the part about PSU and 2800. More like 800.

Of course, being Texas, they would probably prefer prima donna assoluta -- absolute top dog -- which is applied to the biggest stars [stars ... get it? ] of all.
(Although there are masculine language forms, these are a not much used, apparently.)
On a more serious note: I cannot image Texas Christian University or Baylor (a Baptist university) ever seriously considering allowing a school affiliated with the Church of Jesus Christ of ... [the Mormons]. I'll leave it that, since the history of this divide could occupy way more than anyone wants to try to read.

Hmmm ... "true dat." But given a choice ... ? Also, TCU is only "affiliated" with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ?). That gives them a bit more leeway.NavyBlue said:It wouldn't be the first time that BYU and TCU have been in a conference together...
As I recall, the last big seat expansion at the Kibbie Dome (UI) involved going down ... lowering the field level. Could they dig a big hole for the Fargodome field and angle the stands to include more rows of seats?get'em_griz said:... If NDSU is looking to expand to 25,000-28,000, then the only way is to build a completely new stadium. There's no way the Fargodome can be expanded to 25,000.

Have not followed the issue much, so I do not have any hard numbers as to that phase. I suspect it was just a token. However, I believe the next lowering phase expects to add only 4,000 seats, to get them to 20,000. To get to 25 thou, they would apparently need to squeeze in a second deck ... and I have not idea how they might do that. Seems liked they'd have to blow off the roof. Not a bad idea for football ... but they then couldn't use it for basketball or other indoor sports.get'em_griz said:IdaGriz01 said:As I recall, the last big seat expansion at the Kibbie Dome (UI) involved going down ... lowering the field level. How's my new seats were added to the kibbie dome for that expansion? It seems like it'd be difficult to add 7,000 seats in a dome by only doing that.

Baylor, however, is the "largest Baptist university in the world." And, for what it's worth, Baptists have major doctrinal bones to pick with the LDS.
In any case, we're getting a bit tooff:

can someone define "Christian" church for me please?

Sure they can they already have it figured out. They are simply making the seats smaller.
