I will re-state that this is a tragedy, especially for the victim and her family. As well as the Donaldsons and the burden Beau has placed on them. I just refuse to feel bad for an admitted rapist or anyone who chooses to defend their actions.
when you get right to talking about people eating crow, that sounds like bragging to me. If a rapist can admit he did it, why can't you?![]()
Maybe he wants to see him "do serious time" because he $#@$%^$ RAPED someone! :roll:Growler1 said:Baller1 said:Growler1 said:Growler1 said:I defended him because I know a friend of his, who is good friends with both he and the girl. Just because he will plead guilty, does not mean he is guilty. Some of you are so naive to how the legal process works. It is all a calculated gamble, where the defense attorney weighs the risks, consequences, and benefits of going to trial, or pleading guilty for a reduced sentence.
Those of you who are slamming the posters who defended him, are just as culpable of hanging him out to dry simply because of this strategic guilty plea.
So admitting guilt via recorded phone call, and now pleading guilty means he is actually innocent? I must be incredibly naive to not understand your "logic".
What, did Beau do your girlfriend or something? You seem more than ready for him to do serious time. Don't spew unless you walk in his shoes first.
Pleading guilty to a rape charge is not "a calculated gamble." You have to register as a sex offender for the rest of your life. You really think someone who is innocent would voluntarily plead to this?? Maybe in case invovling voter fraud or forgery, some defendants may take a "calculated gamble" on a plea to get a lighter sentence or additional charges dropped. Not so in a rape case.Growler1 said:Baller1 said:His attorney is a very good one and will do everything in his power to help his client. Beau will get off with a much lighter sentence than he deserves (IMO) but this does not change the fact that he has admitted on two occasions now that he raped that girl. Once via a recorded phone call, and now soon to admit it in court. The way some have defended Donaldson before the facts all came out is sickening. Message boards are not places to speak for, or dare I say represent players.

Maybe to other charges. But pleading guilty to sexual assault has some very serious and life-long consequences.
grizfromhel said:In terms of a plea, it is common to use a so-called "Alford" plea by which the defendant maintains his innocence but acknowledges there is a sufficient amount of evidence that could lead to a conviction; and therefore chooses to plead guilty. He gets to have it both ways that way. Go figure.
Also in Montana as, I believe, in most states, the conviction or plea to a felony does not vitiate voting privileges. It only disables during the term of the sentence.

Well, there was at least a classic Growler gaffe when he mentioned spewing in a thread where he is defending a rapist.
So, that was nice.

Spoken like a true knucklehead from Bozo-land. So, dude, you would rather do 20 than register as a sex offender? You don't know what f_ck you are talking about.
