This is the most odd pissing match.........ever.

Can we please put the Trumaine and his "curb stomping" to rest?? I am pretty sure if he "curb stomped" (please watch "American History X")the guy, he would probably have a convicted manslaughter charge, and he would be residing at MSP.........Lets just say........He kicked him in the face? :thumb:

Nope. Look at this thread. The person who the Kaimin quoted on the prior Johnson/Swink incident apparently has said that Johnson threw one punch, and didn't kick anyone.

Wow! Dude........Quit taking shit so serious. If you couldn't tell that was a joke.........then you are incapable of judging tone and lacking comprehension. You, sir, are a nut job. :thumb:

Ha-ha. Really funny joke. What I think is funny is when posters say something stupid, get called on it, and then later say it was a joke. Jeez, I just stated the facts. I didn't attack you. You need to lighten up.
I know you didn't "attack" me, and I could care less about the incident/facts. 99% of posters on here could tell that was a joke. Don't be so sensitive.

I just made an accurate post. You are the sensitive one. You started flipping out after an innocuous post. If you are going to be a baby about someone responding to your posts, either stop posting or stop complaining.

Megalomania.
I was laughing about your response. I thought it was funny.

all this talk by msu fans about trammell being kicked off the team, but the story says he can get back on the team if the story comes out that he was defending himself. so basically he's only been suspended until the matter is resolved.

It's really simple. Ash and Kennedy acted (by their rules - not by the charges/court system) very quickly with their suspensions like it should be done. :thumb:

So what's your point? UM has done exactly the same thing in every situation that I'm aware of, other than perhaps the Wilson biting incident. Even in that case, Wilson was immediately not allowed to practice.

It's already been pointed out that Trammel's dismissal could be reversed in the future.

Where's the swift action by MSU on the hoops player who got beat up, and has 2 charges against him? Nothing has been done with him. I have no problem with MSU waiting and wanting to talk to him, but you Cats act like MSU just did something incredible by taking this action (in the offseason of football). I don't agree. Trammel apparently admitted what he did. There doesn't seem to be any big dispute over what occurred. Minter is going to get internal team discipline. While I have no problem with that, when something similar has occurred at UM, some of you Cats are all over UM for not taking more action and not announcing it.

Player rep, what world to you live in. The charges were not dropped, they were reduced in a plea bargain, which the player accepted. Which guess what, means on the record he admitted to the facts sufficient to meet the elements of the crime. And yes, UM's first statement was that it would let the "legal system run its course." There was never a public announcement of action taken by Plu and, quite frankly, it looks like he only did it after all the press to cover his A&& and not look like the weak figure head he is. Again, I don't judge the players for getting into a little trouble. Alot of male college students do. What I have a problem with, which I have stated many times on this board, is the way the so-called adults in the UM administration, including the HC, handled it. Coach Ash and MSU admin have handled these situations correctly. First, they have never hid behind the legal process. Second, they have made their own investigation and made swift decision demonstrating that true discipinary action will be taken (and if you really believe sitting one quarter is true disciplinary action, give me a break). Finally, they have left the sitaution open so that if additional information comes to light, the action taken can be changed. For example, in this latest incident, if it comes out that Trammel was acting in self defense, maybe he gets reinstated. That doesn't mean he still doesn't deserve (and I am sure he would get) a game or two suspension for not walking away to avoid putting the program in a bad light.

Compare this to how UM has handled every situation in the last few years and you will see a clear difference. One puts the onus on the kids to act responsibly and when they don't they suffer real consequences. The other makes excuses and allows the kids to avoid any real consequences which can lead to these kids possibly getting into to more trouble down the road and makes it clear the priority lies with winning over all else. That is not a good example to set.

So....what was Minter's punishment?

I think what all the kitties on here are really trying to say is:

If Tru had been suspended for the Griz > Kitty shellacking the score would have not been 36 > 10

Virtually everything you said in that post is incorrect. I'm sorry you don't like the language the University uses in handling these matters. Foley may have said "We will let the legal system run it's course" but Pflugrad did not do that. He investigated the situation and dealt out the proper punishment for both players BEFORE any decision was made in court. Pflugrad never spoke publicly on this issue and he doesn't have to. How he disciplines players or what he knows of the situation is not the public's business.

You all still choose to believe that Kemp and Johnson got in a shoving match with Police Officers when in reality they did virtually nothing wrong, and were wrongly arrested and tazored.

Rob Ash is the actual weak figure head and his players don't respect him as anything more than a "good guy".

Former Bobcat players. I have heard this from three of them, I know it's a small sample.

First, are you willing to admit that you were wrong in your earlier post when you said the players were charged with assaulting a police officer? Here are the charges: "charged with obstructing a peace officer, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest" http://missoulian.com/news/local/griz-players-plead-not-guilty-to-party-charges/article_b35af8ca-fe75-11e0-9617-001cc4c002e0.html#ixzz1mZUxIiBJ" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The charges of obstucting a police officer and resisting arrest were dropped. They were not reduced. Again, they were completely dropped. Disorderly conduct is a very minor charge. They plead "no contest" to the charge. $100 fine. They did not have to admit all of the underlying original allegations. They didn't even have to come to court to make to plead no contest. That is not a guilty plea. It means that they have agreed not to dispute the charge. It also means that this plea to disorderly conduct cannot be used against them if they were to sue the city in a civil lawsuit. While I assume they won't do that, I believe they would have a good case any the city/police.

I disagree with all of your comparison. UM has handled all of its legal incidents in a good manner. They have done just what you said MSU did. They did their own investigations as soon and best as they could, and made their decisions. You just don't want to accept the results. You also refuse to look at the actual facts of what occurred, and want to rely on initial press or allegations (often incorrect) and make up stuff (like the players were charged with assaulting a police officer).

As for the recent MSU stuff, you seem to want a medal for what MSU did this week. It is nothing different that what UM would have done. Trammel admitted that he beat up the hoops player, and left him unconscious outside, according to press reports. He was charged with 2 misdemeanors. He's lucky he didn't get a felony assault charge. He had been in 2 prior fights, according to Cat posters. He was dismissed, subject to be reinstated, according to Fields. Minter will have internal discipline. You seem to think that it must be publicly announced in order to be valid. Will you be demanding that the discipline be made public? The track guys is suspended for one meet, and perhaps more. Nothing has been done to the hoops guy, altho he has two charges against him and was downtown during the season.

Why you would want a medal for this action by MSU, is beyond me. If you would just show any objectivity, and stick to the facts, you would realize that UM has also take prompt and appropriate action. However, you apparently live in your own dream world, and you refuse to recognize the facts.

I have heard the same thing about Ash, from recent former players. He's also lacks being able to inspire anyone. Personally, I don't have a problem with this, nor do I have any problem with Ash. Head coaches operate in different ways. They select their assistants. They determine the direction of the ship. Sometimes players like them, sometimes player don't like them, and sometimes it's in the middle. However, the praising of Ash, by Cats and some Griz, for things that I have been told he isn't, makes me chuckle.

Fair enough. No leader is perfect. If he was a tyrant and strong handed, then they would complain he was too mean; everyone has different personalities. I'm happy with him as coach and believe he has the team on a good path.

I want to know where you guys hang out where former players are always coming by. Sounds like a good time.
