only a jackass from blowsman would claim a tie as a NC!! :loser:

Wait, I'm only a decade older than the players, so I can't remember the last time the scats went deep in the playoffs. Are you telling me that their sole "NC" was actually a tie?

No...i think the 1956 NC was a tie. MSU's 1976 and 1984 nc's were wins

The cats '56 and '76 "titles" (if they even happened) were in lower divisions. Therefore, they don't enter into the discussion at all (except to mock you guys for claiming a tie as a win). It's like if Carroll moved up to FCS tomorrow and advertised themselves as 5 time National Champs. What you did at a pseudo high school level doesn't count for shit at the level you are currently at.

Snap, the FACT is the records reflect two FCS championships and 1 NAIA championship. I know it is disappointing to you but you really need a reality check. 1976 and 1984 were FCS championship wins.
Snap you are appearing to be mentally challenged.

When were the two FCS championships again? This is confusing. I thought only one was at the current level . . .

Sure the records reflect two FCS championships. That is why this NCAA record book is entitled Div II, not Div 1AA. You clearly are a genius  so I guess the facts speak for themselves :thumb:

Am I the only one who is getting the sense that if you have to explain why you have a national championship, then you don't have that national championship?

No explanation needed. The bottom line is the Cats have won 3 NCs and the Griz 2. Don't give me krap about the different divisions. When your in a division your playing against your peers at that level. A NC is a NC. I bet most of those teams that were Div II back then are all FCS or above now. Look at Boise State. Wasn't UM Div II at one time? Did they win a championship at that level? Just asking as I don't know. If Montana moves to the FBS are you going to discredit their NCs at the FCS level and say it doesn't account for shit? No it doesn't account for anything at the FBS level but it does against where you are now and you will always be proud of that. The same goes for Carroll. The went against the best competition at their level and won 5 NCs. That is amazing. If they ever move up they can always look at that with great pride for sure.

You are absolutely correct that MSU should be proud of that season. The problem is that Cat fans brag that their team has won 3 championships and UM has only won 2. But you're comparing apples to raisins. If UM moved up they would not tell Washington Husky fans that we have won 2 and they've only won 1. When you are now both in the same division, you state how many you've won in that division when comparing to other teams.

UM: 2
MSU 1

So another griz fan started a thread about the Bobcats. Cool.

I agree, it's pretty sad. Almost as sad as continually posting on your rival's board with crap like this.

 The idiot is you chump. In your logic with Carrloll is what your saying is that if and when the Griz move up to the FBS is that your NCs don't mean shit. Yes, you stepped in a big pile of bear shit. Admit it Snap, did you really attend UM? If you did you must have been one of those guys out taking a few tokes instead of going to class. You are a legend in your own mind!

Exactly like Snap said: If and when the Griz move up to the FBS, Griz fans won't be fucking stupid enough to try to explain how we have more national championships than Washington, UCLA, and Oklahoma State.

MSU has one NC that matters at this level.
