A little roster update

OK, a show of hands for all those who have taken a Statistics Class sometime before today. For the rest of you, go to the next post. Gawd, I am sounding like an IRS form.
Stats are based on observations. The shortest distance between two points is still a straight line. Don't mean sh*t statistically. The arguments presented have no basis for supporting the conclusions presented. It's all subjective, NOTHING OBJECTIVE. Time to step back and be analytical. Dazzle us with brilliance, stop baffling us with ___________. :thumb:

Uh huh...give me a break...the Mecca? The Last Best Place? Tradition? Attendance? Money? Rabid fan base? Facilities wit large?

If you are talking about the lame Griz NIL program....you might have a point.

How about championships? How about warm weather? How about STEM programs? How about proximity for family for those California recruits? I could go on and on, but I think you see how UM doesn't have EVERY advantage. I understand that some of these are out of UM's control, but just as important to some.

You're right, 8-5 is good enough.

There was a time when Griz recruits could be guaranteed to play in a natty...that is a fact.

I was wrong to think a blue-blood of FCS football should perform as such. Maybe climate change will bring some warmer weather...

Raise your expectations...Montana Football...not for the timid or weak...

We both want the Griz where they belong, back on top. Glass half full v glass half empty. We'll have a much better idea by Thanksgiving. I'm capable of changing my mind. You?

How about an urban setting for some recruits? How about a more diverse community for some recruits? How about a place easier and less expensive to fly into? How about cost of living stipends? As stated, weak NIL.

UM has great coaches, strong tradition, a great stadium, a great game-day atmosphere, nice other facilities, and a nice town (if you like smaller towns). Most of those are important to recruits.

He said UM doesn't have every recruiting advantage. He said nothing about 8-5 being good enough. Why can't you stick to the subject-topic that you started? No Griz fan in the world thinks 8-5 is good enough. Not one. Maybe you should raise your support for the team and stop complaining.

Name a school that has every advantage.

It's a western Montana city, second largest in OUR STATE. Turn it into another Compton? No.

Yes, there was a 13 year period in over a 126 years of history that every class played for a championship.

Bad things happened at the U. It tanked ten years ago. We could not find a way to get back to a good, positive trajectory year over year. I am glad that we are on the trajectory to get back to that, with one aberration year last year. Thank god. We should all be celebrating the return of playoff football, top 10 rankings, and what is coming this year. Go Griz.

The administration - who would that be? The President? Are you saying he has a problem with BH and the staffs performance. Surely you jest and again, you don’t know what the hell you are talking about

Oh gee, another clueless Bobby-noser. Why don't you find another team to root for, so the real Griz fans can move forward.

If you actually read my posts you would see that I am anything but a Hauck disciple. You sound like what you are. An ignorant dolt. Ready to criticize a staff regardless the stats, situation or progression of the team. You are a true troglodyte. I can’t help that Hauck took your girlfriend at some point or that he beat you up. I really don’t care who the damn coach is. I care about the overall progression of the program. Which is positive. It took very few years to tear down a dominating program in FCS. It is taking much longer than expected to build it back up. Is Hauck the guy? It appears he is, but it takes time. I personally cannot wait for this season so you can eat crow and shut your hole. You won’t though, because Hauck did something to you personally. For the record, I wasn’t for hiring Hauck back. I felt he fled for $$ and I didn’t respect that. Wasn’t even a better job. He is the coach now though and I am all for success. Unlike you, who is a Cat troll. Carry on troll boy

Athletics is about teams or individuals competing to win. It isn’t realistic to expect we will win every game. The competition may be superior or you just have a bad day. Bobby Hauck is a damn good football coach, but don’t expect him to win every game.

LOL, where did I say anything about 8-5 being good enough? I blow up your argument and you spew a bunch of sewage.

Interestingly, since 2011 when they began their FCS dominance, NDSU has gone undefeated in 3 seasons, culminating of course in national championships. In the other six years in which they won the natty, one year (2015) they lost two games during the regular season, and in the remaining years they lost only one game in the regular season. I don't expect the Griz to win every game but it sure would be nice to have those kinds of records. Also of note, in Bobby's final two seasons in his first go around at UM, he was approaching those same kinds of numbers. His record in '08 was 14-2 and in '09 he was 14-1. Despite the three trips to the title game, he never brought home a natty, for which many fans criticized him mercilessly. Can we get back there again? I sure hope so.

We’ve bitched on here for ages about the Griz getting constantly screwed by schedule makers and the team with the softest schedule being gifted the BSC crown. Griz have a soft schedule this year. No excuses. 9-2 at WORST with their schedule. Anything else will be a massive disappointment. Beat the ‘Scats. Go deep in the playoffs. Then my mind will be changed. Short of that, it’s just rinse and repeat, more of the same.

You need higher expectations. The Griz should win every game, and every fan should expect that. Ha.

Never mind then.

When was the last time that you weren't disappointed with Griz football? Also, do the Griz have the softest schedule or just a soft schedule?

Except I don't live in New Mexico anymore so I guess you're on your own. LOL.
