A little roster update

I don't understand why some are so dead set on hating Bobby Hauck that they take the worst season since he returned, and assume every season will be that bad in the future.

Stat. It's all stats. One season IN A ROW!!!(sarcasm). The upcoming season will prove the grenade chuckers wrong. :grenade: How many coaches, ADs, and fans across the FCS would consider a 8-5 season the beginning of the end? An aberancy of a season at that.

I'm really, really looking forward to this season for exactly that reason.

I couldn’t care less about “other coaches, fans or AD’s” thoughts on an 8-5 season. THAT isn’t Montana. It’s not that complicated. 80% of the BSC would cream their jeans over 8-5. Is THAT the standard you want for Griz football?

You mean current Montana or ancient Montana?

You're doing it again.

He called it an aberration that doesn't signal our downfall, so he clearly doesn't think it's the standard.

You clearly don’t understand how college athletics work at an institution with fairly big boosters. Haslam doesn’t have “power”. He has decision making abilities based on “when” boosters give him pressure or a coach exits involuntarily because of behavior/performance or a better job. There is absolutely no reason to get rid of Hauck. He has brought stability back to a floundering program and this year will prove why the boosters and Haslam have stayed the course. MSU’s basketball program just got decimated when their coach left. Not worth the risk because some unrealistic fan wants to win every single year. You are a moron if you think someone else would have picked up the pieces faster than Hauck. It takes time to rebuild a program. He has done it and one tough year isn’t evidence that the program is heading in the wrong direction. Wake up.

If you think BH or Boosters have more power than the Administration you really are stupid. BH will not be retained if this season is anything like last season.

The administration - who would that be? The President? Are you saying he has a problem with BH and the staffs performance. Surely you jest and again, you don’t know what the hell you are talking about

No one is calling 8-5 a standard. It was one of those bad years that occurs even when a program is on an upswing longer term. As such, it represents a low point of expectations. Swallowing hard, it's acceptable with those confident in the program and its leadership. It is no more than a data point on a graph. Only a fool considers it to be the indication of the state of the program without looking at the whole graph. It does, of course provide fodder for the program and BH detractors who are perfectly comfortable to over-exploit a down year.

Which is a really, really odd thing to see from self-professed Griz fans. I don't see how anyone could look at our trajectory since Hauck came back and be unhappy with where things have gone.

Those folks also conveniently ignore how great he has been for fundraising. QB club is bringing in a ton of money that helps the program, including in the recruiting of players and adding coaches that can help with on field product and recruiting, and we are constructing a new practice facility. Things are going in the right direction.

Did anyone ever say 8-5 should be the standard?why can’t you stick to what people say? It’s not that complicated.

I think MSU's success since 2019 has added a huge sense of urgency to a lot of fans' expectations, whether they'd admit it or not.

To them, it's bad enough that we aren't where we should be, but the fact that MSU is makes it all the more unacceptable. cat fans coming in here crowing about it'll always be like this are incredibly dumb and in for a rude awakening, but their taunts about how it's getting to our fanbase are 100% correct. Shit, this is the first time in my entire life that MSU has been head and shoulders better than UM for this long, and I'm not ashamed to admit how much I hate it.

But we have to also realize that letting that push us into making stupid reactionary decisions won't for sure get us there any quicker.

Yep, I agree with every single one of your points, as painful as it is to say. And those cat fans are getting the first taste of real success in their lifetimes. They don't know how to be winners, or how fast it can turn on them.

The Montana that has EVERY conceivable advantage over every other FCS program...what was is what should be.

Oh gee, another clueless Bobby-noser. Why don't you find another team to root for, so the real Griz fans can move forward.

If there is one thing that real Griz fans do, it is trash the team, players, and coaches! Woo!

Montana doesn't have EVERY conceivable advantage over every other FCS program though.

Uh huh...give me a break...the Mecca? The Last Best Place? Tradition? Attendance? Money? Rabid fan base? Facilities wit large?

If you are talking about the lame Griz NIL program....you might have a point.

How about championships? How about warm weather? How about STEM programs? How about proximity for family for those California recruits? I could go on and on, but I think you see how UM doesn't have EVERY advantage. I understand that some of these are out of UM's control, but just as important to some.

You’re right. It’s not. Win the conference. Autobid. Home games throughout the playoffs. Semifinals or further.

Simple.

Your strategy of finishing 3/4/5, backing into the playoffs, playing 2nd game onward on the road has been tried.

It’s failed.

Maybe Bobby should try a different course.

Man you are a dick. I think we all have dick moments. But you are a dick in your morning posts, dinner posts and night posts. I think when most of us are dicks we step back with a little self reflection and think “I was a dick I better dial it back a bit” but not you. You are consistent at least.
