A couple new coaches

Interesting how posters try to justify this hire instead of questioning it. But I guess that is what homers do. If it were not for me calling this out it would just slide right on by. The Griz are a top tier FCS program not some JC in no where Iowa. The Griz are in desperate need of stronger recruiting and coaching on the defense. To hire someone with little to no experience is not professional.
OK. You don't understand how it works. Young guys come on staff as assistant position coaches and/or as grad assistants. They make peanuts. Look back at any resume of any head coach and look at the jobs they had in their 20's. They are assistant position coaches. No where did it say he was "the secondary coach." Griz already have a CB and safeties coach. This guy played at Nebraska and in the CFL and you don't think he should be considered for an assistant position or grad assistant position at UM? By the way it was best JC in the nation.

Justify the hire of a young dude with superb potential to be the assistant to an assistant?

Get a grip - clear you didn't sign up for the remedial posting course. Do it today.

Recruits are still tagging McCloud and Nurse is still our safties coach so clearly none of them have left this guy is likely a grad assistant or an assistant to Nurse and McLoud I personally see no problem with bringing him in to help and could open up a new recruiting territory and help us bring Iowa Western kids in one of the top Jucos in the nation

Every single post leaves me laughing and shaking my head.

...and all the rookie head coaches in the NFL...

What a dumb post.
Ouch. I stand by what I said and its not an insult to BK. Someone that is a 30? Year position coach. Never a coordinator. Might just benefit from someone doing this. I'm impressed with BK. I'm seriously not insulting him.

It's an assistant position coach. Not the actual position coach, but an assistant to one. You're not going to find experienced coaches at this level for that position.

No where did it say he was an assistant. It is clearly stated he is a DB coach.

It does not say he is an assistant coach. I mean the bobcats are FCS national champs and the Griz are supposed to be near as good. So why not an actual coach?

Well, the Griz already have a CB coach and a Safety coach with years of experience. So if a 25 year old former CFL player with one year of JC coaching experience says he "a DB coach" with the University of Montana what would a logical person assume from that?

Let me help you out here. So you got one here. Then you got another one over there. When you combine both ones, that makes two.

Here, this might be simpler.

1+1=2

Hopefully this will alleviate your confusion.

...NFL coaches benefit from it as well...

So dumb. Looks like you also need to get into the remedial eGriz.com posting class. Hurry tho, it's filling up fast.

I found this clip of the new assistant DB coach at a coach’s clinic talking about his defensive philosophy. I didn’t watch the whole thing but from what I’ve seen it seems like he is going to bring a lot of good insight to the staff. Having a younger energetic guy on the staff should have a good impact on recruiting too.

that he is the DB coach and not an assistant

Might make it 17 pages with this one. Dog keeps chasing his tail. Hmm, let’s see now. Griz pick up a bright and motivated young coach to help them out and people bitch. There are only so many $$’s to go around for the staff. Guys need to gain coaching experience. BK sees an opportunity and moves on it. The end.
