The Bubble is down!

Has anyone in the athletic department said that the latest deflation was a problem? Or, what have they said? I see what Hooked said above, but was just looking for a bit more info. Thx.

When you deflate your air mattress every morning so your buddy’s wife can have her living room back for the day, it’s not instant, right? Think of it like your air mattress, only bigger.

This to me has been Haslam’s single biggest failure. Dude has absolutely zero vision and also lacks the sort of dynamic personality necessary to fundraise at a high level.

Being strung out on the Washington family’s teat gave him cover that the Cat’s recent fundraising dominance has laid bare.

MSU has lapped us on his watch and he simply does not have the skills to compensate.

I will be extremely discouraged if Shinn keeps him around.

Where's your data UM and MSU fund-raising for athletics?

MSU doesn't seem to have any donor family nearly as big as the Washington family.

In 2025, according to the Knight stats, MSU has $300,000 more than UM in donations.

It’s an easy fix, you donor’s publicly say we are not giving anymore money until AD is replaced.
 
Problem I’ve noticed with the folks in the front office is that they seem to think well this worked in the 90s let’s keep doing it.

Take the time to look around UM athletic facilities, Adam’s center is showing its age
1. Front office isn’t bad but it’s cramped
2. The building is dark and dreary during business hours.
3. Athletic training office was last updated during the Clinton administration, how many of you would want to get treated at a clinic that hasn’t been updated in that long?!
4. Football stadium concrete has visible cracks.
5. Soccer field doesn’t have lights, it’s ADA compliant bathroom is a porta john, it’s pressbox uses a chain fence instead of a wall.
6. Track n field don’t even have a locker room.

With this new President hopefully he’s not scared to hire folks that have a fire in them to make a change. Current athletic leadership is at this point an albatross around the neck of every Griz fan, they’re holding back the players and fans from achieving more!

The Griz have the opportunity to become the face of the FCS like how Georgia Southern was in the 80’s, NDSU has been from 2011-24. People like backing a winning horse.

One of the more embarrassing ones is ESPN putting their announcers for the SDSU game this past season under a tent on the roof because of how inadequate the stadium press box is. They even showed it on national TV!!!! (Don't even get me started on the narrow west side concourses and the fact there's only 4 bathrooms for each gender on the main level, only 1 each on the east side)

The other stuff is just pathetic. How do we not have a track locker room?? How is the ADA bathroom at the soccer field a porta potty??

For god's sake we're closer to NoCo or Portland State for non-rev facilities than we are MSU at this point. And NoCo even has lights for soccer!!!

We'd have the worst facilities in the Mountain West if we were invited today (football and basketball withstanding, and honestly basketball would be like the third worst), and other posters on this board still trash the bottom of this conference, when we're barely ahead of them at this point

The university needs to take a hard look at their facilities and figure out how to get money to do upgrades. Possibly thru the legislature? Robbing money from the football program is not the answer nor should it be.
 
I’ve said before, I would be more pissed if there was a permanent structure on campus that looked like MSU’s…….that thing is so gd ugly it’s unreal!!!! I’m glad UM went the bubble route until they can fundraise the rest for a permanent building. I just hope that it looks better than that thing msu built.
