If the Griz lose to sac and the scats and they finish tied or behind ewu, nau, scats and sac...the Griz are preparing for next year come playoff time. 5 BSC teams will not get in.

You may be right, but it would depend on what the competition's situations looked like. Also, if SS got in the playoff, then UM's 4 losses would all be to playoff teams.
If it were the caa, the playoff committee would say they all beat up on each other because the conference is f***[*] awesome....the bsc will not be afforded that luxury.

Yes, it will. The committee will look kindly on the 13-team Big Sky.
Hope you're right, we will see.

MVC has NDS at 8-0 and YSU at 7-1. YSU has SD, NI, NDS and SDS. 4-4 Ill St has NI, NDS and So Ill. SDS is 4-4 and has YSU, Montana, NDS and SDS. SDS is 5-4 and has Ind St, SD and YSU and 3 conf losses. NI is 4-4 and Ill St, YSU, Mo. St. and W. Ill, and has 4 conf losses. NDS is probablu goig to give 2 of those teams 5 losses. Bloodbath.

CAA has Maine and Towson at 7-1 and 8-1. Let's assume they are in. Del is 6-2 and has Towson, WM, Richmond and Vill. NH is 4-3 and has WM, JMU, Albany and Maine. Vill is 4-4 and has JMU, RI nd Del. WM is 5-3 and has NH, Del, Towson and Richmond. Stony Brook is 3-4 and has Maine, Richmond, JMU and Albany and 3 conf losses. Bloodbath.

SoCon is a shadow of its former self, ASU and Geo So not eligible. Samford and Chatt are 6-2. Sam has Chatt and 3 others. Chatt has App, Wofford, Sam and Alabama. Wofford is 5-3 and has Chatt, App St and Furman.

There are going to be lots of 5 and 4 loss teams in these conferences.

The Big Sky has 4 teams at 6-2. SS is 4-4 and has UM, CP, PSU and Davis.

I see the Sac St game as a must win game for us. I think 4 BSC teams get in to the playoffs. We can probably afford to lose to MSU and still get in. Hopefully, we can run the table and get our self a home game or two though.

SS has only 3 D-I wins. I don't see SS getting to 7 D-I wins (Weber, No Colo on ND). UM needs to beat SS, but it's not a must win. It's probably more important just to get UM back on track and coming into the final games with some momentum.

Im with HighLineGRIZ on this one. I believe its a must win game. I think all the games from here on out are must win. We have a little room to lose one but nobody wants to see that.. I also can agree on that this game will set the tone for the rest of the season.

I am little worried that Sac St has had 2 weeks to prepare for this game. I know the past is the past but didnt they have a bye right before they played us in 2011 and we all know how that game ended..

Why is it a "must win"? Do you think a 3-loss team from the Big Sky, especially one named Montana, isn't going to get into the playoffs? Look around the country. Lots of teams that normally would be playoff material already have 4 losses, and many have 3 losses--and many of those teams have tough games yet to play. I do agree that it's important for UM to beat SS, though.

A must win from the teams stand point. Losing to ewu at home had to sting. They know they can't win the conference. The sac state game might define who this team is. Personally I think the players have a lot of heart and talent and could win this thing going away. Yes a must win in my book. If for nothing else the teams psychic. Hope Chief can go!

Maybe it's just a difference in our view of what a "must win" is. I agree with the other things you said. Note my thread on Sat. night that said UM is fine (and now we're on to plan B), but now it's time to beat SS and get on with taking care of business the rest of the season.

I think it will help us in the playoffs being 10-2 rather than 9-3 buts its going to be a tough test for us though to get to that point.... :twocents:

Maybe this game isn't a "must win", but all margin for error would be gone with a loss, and MSU would become a "must win"...there's a lot of scenarios left to play out but we would be behind the eight ball with a loss here.

I do think at this point, the remaining games are "must wins," especially if we want to put ourselves in a good position to advance in the playoffs. If we win out, there's a good chance we get two home games. Lose one more, we get a bye and one home game. If we lose two more and happen to get in the playoffs with a 8-4 record, more than likely we get a first round home game with the rest on the road.

Hopefully we win out and get those two home games! :thumb:

To get 2 home games, you have to be a top 4 seed (unless seeds fall in early rounds). If you aren't a top 8 seed (and then have a bye in round 1), then you have to go on the road in the round 2 to play a top 8 seed. Feel free to correct me if this isn't correct.

True, the more wins the better for playoff seeding. 10-2 would mean a win over MSU and might or might not get us a top 8 seed, depending on how other things shake out.

The possibility of a EWU/UM rematch in Cheney gets me fired up. Let's go Griz!

I'm with most of the rest of you on this...I think it will be hard to win all 4, given that 3 are road games. However, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities to win out by any means. Let's just put a beating on MSU, please. Griz fans need that more than anything right now.

It would certainly be great to have a shot at revenge, but the last thing I want to think about right now is trying to stop that offense again. :x

The blue print I was referring to has worked until the Griz decide it is time to let JJ go to work and then the Griz put up more points in the 4th quarter. I guess I need to make things clear for the few very intelligent people that can't infer things.

Win out and we are looking at a seed..

3-1 playoff game first round at home

2-2 playoff maybe? But likely away

...I think we are playoff bound

2-2 is 8-4 = play-in game----AT HOME. Then on the road.

Thanks....looks better

And after watching the game again I am wrong, you guys are right, I should have said teams figured out how to stop the roll out bootleg, which we do run sometimes.
