I would think that, if Kent was even going to interview Bobby, he must have cleared the possibility of hiring him with Engstrom? Wouldn't he?

The more I consider that, the more I feel that it's just UM paying respect where they feel they have to for obvious reasons (most notably his record here, his overall connectedness, and the fan/booster support).

I hope he's getting a fair shake regardless, but I just have the sense that they feel he needs to be on the short list to avoid backlash. Hope I'm wrong.

The backlash will come if Hauck isn't hired. He has the support of all of the top athletic donors, or virtually all of them. In fact, he and some of his assistants are very good friends with most of them.
Notice line 76.
Nevada-Las Vegas Mt. West Bobby Hauck $850,000 $0 $850,000 $285,000
Would those "top athletic donors" be willing to come us half a mil to supplement his salary? http://sports.usatoday.com/ncaa/salaries/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Out of those four Fritz listed, IF it came down to those four, my BEST GUESS, would be in order of who would absolutely take the job if offered....

4. Baldwin: I think Kent is ALOT more interested in him than he is in the Griz. No doubt he's intrigued, but I just don't see him leaving VA in his senior season.
Why? Are they having some kind of affair?

I'd love to hear that conversation with the wife:
"Baby, I'd love to double my salary, move you to a nicer house in a better town with better, well, everything. But I gotta stay for VA."

There would be no doubling of salary. From Googling, it looks like his base pay is about $113,000 (maybe a bit higher) and Delaney's is just over $162,000. Not even a 50% increase.
Yeah, but I was including the incentives which, I was told, would take the pay up around $250k. That's all hearsay of course. I did see someone else posted his pay at $155k.

Last I looked he was out of work so I'm not quite sure what it is they'd be matching. Unemployment?

Depends on which ones are included, but really if Hauck is thinking about coming back it's not looking for a payday, it's an upper FCS salary and a place he wants to live and feels he can win at.

25 years as a Griz player and coach, born and raised in Montana, coached in 5 national championships, has more wins as a player and coach than anyone in Griz history and is the original #37. Kraig Paulson should get the respect he deserves and be considered for the head job. Everyone since Don Read has left, Kraig won't leave.

Good guy, decent coach....should not be considered. And won't be.

It's coming down between Baldwin and Hauck.

So do we have an idea on when KH is going to make his hire? Are we looking at a week, what are we looking at?

There's a thread over on Championship Subdivision where Rachac has Baldwin applying for the job.

Objection! Objection! Hearsay!

I did like the "exposure" comment. This is what I have been thinking the last week or so. Baldwin is on the move. Here? Likely not. It wouldn't make a whole lot of sense. It's more advertising himself than anything. looking for an FBS in. Just my opinion. Baldwin is out of EWU this year.

That tweet is pretty good:

"Not even a lateral move." Correct, it would be a step up.
"If he moves, he's moving up." So, you agree?

Rachac's response was more or less the same thing.

I'm told Baldwin and a significant Griz booster share an affinity for games of chance and may have hit it off during a trip to one of the fine establishments that offer such indulgences, which allowed for many things to be discussed.
