For those that don't want to read about Montana high school sports, here is how the Griz in-state commits are doing about halfway through their senior seasons:
Braydon Deming - 6'4", 215 lbs. (Braydon is having an outstanding senior season as a TE and OLB for Billings West and has shown all of the skills that have made him one of the best recruits in the state. A perfect fit for the H-receiver spot in Stitt's offense or a hybrid pass rusher/outside linebacker in Semore's defense. Big fan of Braydon as I've said all along.)

Bryson Deming - 6'4", 192 lbs. (Bryson is having a decent season at QB for Billings West as his best game came against CMR when he went 18-32 for 286 yards and 3 touchdowns. I don't really know what the Griz are recruiting him as but I do know that he is just as strong and athletic as his identical twin brother. He may be a bit lighter but they both throw the shot and discus about the same distance. Bryson could be a QB, WR, DE, OLB, or P for the Griz as it kind of depends on where you want to mold him. He could be like another Brady Gustafson where he kind of just sits on the roster and learns and before you know it he is beating NDSU at Washington-Grizzly in his first start his fourth year in the program. A good athlete, good kid, and a good student to have at your university.)

Mitch Roberts - 6'1", 180 lbs. (The younger brother of former Griz Ben Roberts, Mitch is the QB of the 2-2 Missoula Sentinel Spartans. He is considered a dual-threat QB and so far here are his stats through four games: 60/100 for 680 yards passing with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception as well as 46 carries for 212 yards with 1 touchdown. Most have said that he is coming to the Griz as an athlete. I do not think he will play QB but I do think he can play multiple receiver positions on offense and somewhere in the secondary on defense. Again, depends on where you want to mold him. He likely won't garner major off-season accolades at QB because he is not as good as other pure QB's in AA but he is arguably a top 10 athlete in the 2017 in-state class.)

Matt Rensvold - 6'4", 210 lbs. (Matt is almost a clone of Braydon as they both project at the same group of positions for the Griz, in my opinion. Matt has been the best TE (you could also call him a receiver or slotback in Polson's scheme as they move him around a lot) in Class A this year and has caught 4 touchdowns in three games. Despite not getting in the endzone against Dillon, he still hauled in 6 catches for 74 yards. He is a natural at catching the football. Matt is another kid I'm pretty high on in this in-state class.)

Tanner Wilson - 6'2", 190 lbs. (Tanner is the leader of the 2-1 Polson Pirates at QB and FS. So far in his senior season, he has thrown 8 touchdowns in three games and ran for over 200 yards with 2 touchdowns. Stitt likes him at QB as he impressed at the summer camp this year. I'm going to stick with my opinion that he is a better safety than quarterback. Regardless, you can tell the kid knows football when he is on either offense or defense. Has good instincts and understands situations and how to react. Tanner is a good thrower on the run and can throw a nice deep ball. His favorite target is Rensvold and it would be cool if Tanner ever gets to throw a touchdown to Matt for the Griz.)

Trevor Hoerner - 6'4", 210 lbs. (Trevor is the big slot receiver and MLB of the 4-0 Columbia Falls Wildcats. He is a long, athletic kid who has really improved as a linebacker his senior season. His junior year, I didn't like how he wrapped up defenders and instead always went for the big hit which actually led to missed tackles more times than not. He has shown a better job of that through his first four games as he is using his long arms and frame to break guys down at the point of attack. Trevor doesn't have to lay a big hit on a kid to bring him down because he is strong as an ox (benches over 310 lbs.). Now as a receiver, Trevor can be down right dominant from the slot. He has six touchdowns through four games in an offense that likes to spread the ball around (His teammate Braxton Reiten has 10+ already). He is a smooth runner and can hurdle kids without breaking stride (watch his junior highlight tape). Not really sure on his route running which is usually the biggest thing kids have to work on when they start off playing receiver in college. I think he can play multiple receiver positions in Stitt's offense and either linebacker spot in Semore's defense. Braydon Deming, Rensvold, and Hoerner are the three highest rated kids the Griz have gotten from in-state so far mostly because I think they have the best chance to play early in their careers. A good comparison for Hoerner is 2016 in-state recruit Jed Nagler. Trevor isn't as fast or athletic as Jed but he is still a really good college recruit and one of the better ones in Montana for 2017.)

Michael McGinnis - 6'3", 185 lbs. (Michael was the first commit of the 2017 Griz recruiting class as he got a partial scholly offer after an impressive summer camp in Missoula. Griz are recruiting him at safety. He plays receiver and free safety for the Sidney Eagles and has done well on both sides of the ball so far this year. Sidney is entering its conference slate this weekend. Anyway, based on his junior season, I really liked Michael's speed and ball skills at safety as he plays a good centerfield on defense. One thing I wanted to see improvement on was his tackling and physicality and so far so good in those areas his senior season. Michael may not have huge numbers on offense this year (a few nice big plays for touchdowns) but Sidney likes to run the rock. I see an improved player on defense and Michael is one kid that will be moving up my rankings once the season is over. I can guarantee that.)

McKenzie Holt - 6'4", 230 lbs. (McKenzie is the RB/MLB for the 1-3 Thompson Falls Blue Hawks. Though his team has struggled, McKenzie has been very productive at RB and MLB as he has rushed for 564 yards on 49 carries with 6 touchdowns and 42 tackles on defense in four games. One game he had 14 solo stops. He also has added 3 catches for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns. Anyway, the Griz I guess are recruiting him at offensive lineman. Don't really know what to think on that as I guess you can throw some weight on him and see what happens. I think he could make one hell of a defensive end. I'll wait to see his senior year tape before I move him around in the rankings as Catsack likes to pay attention to where I move him. :thumb
