And, if Dick chooses Carroll, he honestly might play immediately. Carroll has really, really struggled at the position the last few seasons.

Biggest games in each class, in my opinion:
Class AA - Missoula Sentinel at Billings West
(West and Sentinel are both fighting for a top 4 seed so a win here for either team would go a long way, especially for Sentinel as they get a forfeit win over Hellgate next week and get Flathead for the final week. West has a tougher road with a game against Sentinel, then they go on the road to Great Falls, who has been a tough out, and Helena High.)
Class A - Columbia Falls at Polson
(This one will be for the Northwestern A conference. Columbia Falls has been the best team in Class A this year, especially after their 28-21 win over Dillon two weeks ago. Polson is 5-1 and has been fairly dominant but their lone loss was to Dillon 38-6. Columbia Falls is loaded on offense with QB Dakota Bridwell, RB Austin Green, FB Logan Kolodejchuk, WR Braxton Reiten, WR Trevor Hoerner, and WR Sean Miller. Polson is led by QB Tanner Wilson and WR/TE Matt Rensvold. If you are in the Missoula or Kalispell area, try to make it to this one.)
Class B - Shelby at Fairfield
(Both teams are undefeated heading into this one. Fairfield hasn't lost a football game in almost two years as their last loss was to Huntley Project in the 2014 State Championship game. Since the beginning of 2014, they are 27-1. They are led by two really good seniors in WR/LB Cantor Coverdell (6'3", 180 lbs.) and TE/DE Chandler Allen (6'2", 205 lbs.). Shelby is led by Junior QB Aaron White (brother is Chase White who is the starting QB for Rocky) and a slew of seniors. Should be a fun one!)
Class C (8-man) - Twin Bridges at Charlo
(Charlo is a fun 8-man team to watch and they win the Western C with a win here. Twin Bridges got off to a tough start with two losses as they were playing without one of their best players (which matters in 8-man) but he is back now and the Falcons have looked tough to beat. Should be the best game in 8-man.)
Class C (6-man) - White Sulphur Springs at Hot Springs
(Winner will have the inside track to first place in the 6-man West. Hot Springs has outscored opponents 459-20 this year....which is ridiculous. Good luck to the White Sulphur Springs Hornets...they'll need it.)

Also, Whitehall will play Libby at Washington-Grizzly tonight (I think it's still happening pending any drastic scheduling issues). It likely won't be much of a game as Whitehall is a contender in Class B while Libby has one win on the season. If you want to do some self-scouting, Whitehall has two very good players in QB/S Braden Larsen (6'1", 185 lbs.) and TE/LB Andrew Simon (6'1", 200 lbs.). I would say both are PWO candidates at the FCS level but both are sure-fire NAIA talents. Larsen is putting together one of the best seasons a Class B QB has had since Quinn McQueary of Manhattan a few years ago. He can score at will with his arm or with his legs and he has some of the best arm talent in the state in my opinion. Simon is just a physical TE/LB type that makes plays and is always around the ball. He also has soft hands as a receiver and is good after the catch.
For other games in Missoula, Skyview will play at Missoula Big Sky. There are a few nice recruits playing in this one.
For Skyview, two of their best players are MLB Ryan Davis (6'2", 220 lbs.) and OL/DL Dawson Berg (6'5", 290 lbs.). Ryan is one of the best tacklers in the state and has prototypical size for the position. He is also a rodeo star which never hurts. Berg has put together one of the best interior offensive/defensive lineman seasons in the state this year. He is the center on offense and he absolutely road-grades kids. On defense, he is a handful at the point of attack and has really improved his speed at the position since his junior season. Pay no attention to Skyview's record. These two are stud football players and both are getting recruited by the Cats and Griz.
For Missoula Big Sky, they have another solid offensive lineman in David Hann (6'0", 260 lbs.) who has put together a good senior season. They also have a nice two-way WR/DB in Nick Wakai who is also a good kick returner. These two fit more of a PWO recruit-type but both are good football players.

I see that the Paro kid from Hot Springs did not make the list. I really don't know much about him other than setting the all time record for touchdowns last night. Anyone know more about him?

Hot Springs is 6 man so the touchdown record thing is what it is. He's an NAIA player at best. Which coming from Hot Springs still would be a big deal.
And just a reminder, its just a preseason list. Will update it after the season is over.

With the way the Choate change over is going in Bozoland and is turning into a complete Dumpster fire and the season isn't quite going the way the kitten coaching staff had previously been selling to the newly committed In-State recruits.....how many of these high school commitments do you see changing their minds?

Zero would be my prediction. Not saying that to be "proud" or "headstrong" but basing it off who they have verbals from. Troy Andersen has close family ties. Keaton Anderson has a chance to be one of our starting safeties next year...seriously. Jaxen Hashley and Tadan Gilman have been best friends since they were children and Hashley has family ties. If there was one, maybe Gilman as he has no direct family ties and FBS programs are still floating around. As usual, you guys should expect both schools to get their fair share of good Montana talent (like every year).
As far as team success, out-of-state kids and transfers play a major role as an even crop of Montana kids usually always produce for the Griz and Cats. I've been vocal on Bobcatnation about what I think of Ash's last four out-of-state recruiting years prior to him getting let go. Dakota Prukop's ability to make things happen masked a lot of our depth and talent issues the past two years at a lot of positions and now we are playing true freshman, redshirt freshman, and sophomores at key positions who were either preferred walk-ons or half scholly kids. Where are the seniors and juniors? Well there aren't a whole lot on the roster. Not really your best case scenario. What Choate needs to do is build the program in his vision just like Stitt built his which is why I expect some tough cuts this December. All those Bobcat fans who thought Stitt was a dickhead for cutting half the roster last year will be complimenting Choate for doing the same this year.
So I guess my prediction is expect a large recruiting class for MSU this year and some cuts during spring ball 2017. No more patchwork BS. If we are going to rebuild it, then rebuild it the right way. We have way too many kids on the roster who just don't have it.
