2016 Schedule-one more opponent?

That would be a good get. Not cheap to bring to Missoula, but better than a DII

I would be willing to pay a "travel surcharge" on my ticket to bring in an FCS team rather than a DII. $3 a ticket should be enough to pay the difference IMO.

Has anyone considered that no available FCS team wants to come to Msla next season......
Sure ... but $$$ talks and bulls**t walks. UM just has to be willing pay up, and then do a good job of selling the game. Sadly, that latter part is something the PR dept may not be up to.

because an University that is in a budget shortfall, cutting employees, and cutting programs should offer $$$ to entice another FCS school to come to Msla when they can offer $ to a D2.......

and just maybe they should given the (for FCS) astronomical ticket prices. Of course, they are probably of the opinion that the same number of "suckers" will come no matter who we play! That is what I mean when I refer to disrespect for Griz season ticket holders.

If we get stuck with a D2 school im going to be very annoyed, hell id even be okay with playing an additional road game if it meant we could have another FCS opponent or even play against an FBS opponent. But even then we should scour the Southland, Missouri Valley or Pioneer teams I bet one has the 17th open.

Everyone can hope, but the 11th opponent will be a home game and most likely D2.....why.....because it is budget friendly....

and, unfortunately, far more important than providing a competitive game...the suckers will come no matter who the opponent is.....I hope I am wrong.

That is just so crappy, particularly for season ticket holders like us ... not much value for the investment.

Why not the University of San Diego? They could use the money and they are a FCS school.
Sounds like a winner to me. Of course, I've no idea what their schedule may be.

I know its has been said on here many times, but was the difference in home game $$$ and FBS $$$? I know it would $u%k to lose a home game, but would that give us a more quality opponent plus $$$ in the bank? Would it have to be a power 5 conference to make it worth our time?

Old numbers but when he was AD Jim O'Day told the GSA board that most home games equate to about a $350,000 - $375,000 pay day. Thus booking too many away games without that strong of a payout has the UM just leaving money off the table.

l bet that Missoula businesses that give money to Griz Athletics apply leverage to have at least six home games each season so they will get a better return on their expenditure. Only having five probably means less in sponsorship money also.

That has to profit after all expenses because in numerous times he mentioned revenue streams of over $600M per home game.

Yep, net gain after expenses.

I totally agree. I would rather see the team on the road than watch em play a Div II game. Won't go to it, won't watch it.
