Here's a hint for you: any 6'3", 190 pound receiver that runs a 4.4 40 is playing for Tennessee, Florida, USC, etc. Sambrano didn't run a 4.4 40. Mariani didn't run a 4.4 40. And honestly, there's "fast", and then there's "football fast". I'd rather have somebody that's fast with pads on than some guy that can run a 4.4 40 but can't outrun coverage when he pads up.

Really? Sambrano's best 40 time at his pro day was 4.47. That's a hell of a lot closer to 4.5 than it is to 4.4.

Really? The conditions on pro day were awful, and everyone ran much slower times that day than the were timed previously. Nice try, but WRONG AGAIN! Next!

NO NEED TO VALIDATE THIS: a sub 4.5 is fast especially by NFL Scouts! An educated football fan understands this. Someone stated earlier there is speed & then there is "football speed" i would rather have the later. Jerry Rice did!
