13 Seed vs Syracuse

EDIT:

This is a much better list.

Being from Syracuse and living in Missoula this is my worst nightmare ever...Griz need to put a guy at ft line who can hit 16 ftr and pass quickly to wing shooters. Passing around and jacking up threees wont work in the long run.. Syracuse has droughts on offense. Southerland is the three pt shooter and got hot in big east tourney... Fair is most consistent shooter from15 and 44% three but doesnt shoot a lot of threes. MCW and triche are not good 3 pt shooters. The bigs are by no means scorers...Rebounding could be the huge difference... https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=597661180246887&set=a.357235697622771.96000.100000090328281&type=1&theater&notif_t=mention" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I was wondering early if they'd put jamar at the ft line and let hake a decision from there. Kick out to one of our shooters, hit the short j, or feed it down low for a dunk from hutch. Wayne will put something together that gives em the best shot.

Their length bothers me. They are taller at every position and they are long plus they shoot it pretty well. They play a lot of zone so it could be interesting with our shooters.

I am happy for Will and Kareem who will be able to have their hometown fans watch them. Just maybe Syracuse will look past us and we can pull the upset. Hoping for the best but not heading to Vegas to put a lot of money on it.

They look ready.

At least the guy in the black sweatshirt found a good way to entertain himself.

I really hope the Griz can pull off the upset but just don't see it happening. I mean, let's be honest with ourselves for a minute. A team that makes it to the Big East Championship probably isn't going to have much trouble with a Big Sky team. Anything can happen of course, but it's going to take a perfect game by the Griz and a bad game by the Orange for this game to even be close.

Couple of stupid questions here. Before those, congrats on your conference title, your team definitely deserves it. I know you had a couple of key injuries to Cherry and one other player. Will you guys be at full strength for the big dance?

Good luck against Syracuse, they are a tough draw. You will have to play some really good defense, especially defending the paint.

Ward is done for the season and that really hurts, but they will give it their all.

F*ck Syracuse.

I have now a reason to hate them. They will probably win, and I will be pulling hard against them. Not just for the remainder of the tourney, but always.

They're quoting another post of mine on their board, as if they needed bulletin board material...hah...keep it classy, big dogs. Your hubris precedes you, though.

I still Like/respect the Badgers, but big bad 'Cuse now can count me in the hater column. It's been growing for years and I think is peaking.

GO GRIZ

#Go Hoosiers

I tried to register on their board, but I was denied it looks like. No idea why. Maybe they dont like opposing fans of their boards? I'm trying to register a 2nd time.....but I see no other Griz fans there so perhaps they dont.

What would Coach Varner Do?

WWCVD?

Hey guys--Davidson fan here. Watched your game yesterday against WSU, and was really pulling for you. I certainly enjoyed watching you play when you came to Davidson in the Bracketbuster--it seemed like there was mutual respect between our two programs, and we're already looking forward to coming out there to play you guys in the return game. We owe Wichita State a game next year as well, so there will be some high quality, true road games on our resume.

I was a little miffed when I first saw the bracket and you guys were seeded ahead of us. However, I cheered up in a hurry when I realized that we would be playing in Kentucky instead of California. I think the committee may have done each of us a favor there (for some reason I had a notion all day that we would get matched up against Syracuse, get sent to San Jose, or both). Now, I'll get to see the Wildcats in person--the last time I saw us play in person in the NCAAs, we were beating Georgetown to go to the Sweet 16.

Good luck against the Orange--I'll be cheering for you again, and I'm guessing the folks on the Davidson board will be cheering for you in that one as well...

gotta love the guy on their board who disses the Griz because they won the conference championship on their home floor.....

Hi Montana! 'Cuse fan so this is my 1st post. Brackets are in and we know you are a good team that only has 6 losses. Can anyone give me a Grizzly snapshot that I can bring back to our board?

Looking at your stats on ESPN, it looks like you are good from three and excellent from the free throw line. You don't seem to use a lot of height but you do have a 7' guy and a 6'9 kid that plays more at the 5. You seem to be a well balanced team with no stars but about 10 guys that play well.

In all honesty, I see us winning by 8-12 maybe more, but who knows, we haven't been playing very well lately. Granted the competition has been intense, but we don't shoot the ball very well. Louisville may have demoralized us a little in the BET by blowing us out after we led by 16 with 15min left.

6'8"F J. Southerland is our best shooter but is very streaky, if he is on his game he can hit from just about anywhere, when he's off, well.... Michael Carter-Williams is our PG, can't shoot a lick but has great court vision to distribute.

I think we'll be extending our zone and daring you to beat us inside. Does anyone in the Big-Sky play zone?

Good luck and you are welcome to stop by our board to discuss CBB.

Hi Stoney. Thanks for posting. Montana is a very young team with only 2 seniors (one lost to foot injury-Ward). In OOC Montana lost to tourney teams Colorado State by 7, South Dakota State by 1 in 2 OT's, Davidson by 6 in OT all without our starting point guard Cherry (is getting NBA looks) and, at the mid-major level, losing your starting senior point guard was a huge deal. The Griz will not have the size that 'Cuse has but can run so I am hoping for a Louisville type performance...wishful thinking. Don't really have a big that can bang all game with you and that is how you will run away with it - inside. Have a 7 footer but he is a freshman and Hutchison is Montana's other big but he is a 6' 9" junior. Will be a fun time to watch and having it be the late game is nice to be able to watch after work!!

Why should they give us respect? They're Syracuse and we're...... well....not. I'd be confident and cocky to.

You missed the point.

Respect the fact that your opponent is where they are. And if you've never played them before, just show some BASE respect, the kind you'd show a stranger on the street.

And cocky and confident is fine, but showing a tiny bit of humility also makes sense when you've had your ass handed to you by the likes of Vermont and others, and you're not exactly on a tear.

What do you mean by "the likes" of Vermont and why is it ok for you to diss Vermont but you get upset when Cuse fans diss you? Just sayin' every team's fans think they are the best don't they?

Thanks for the reply, didn't know Ward was injured. Damn, you guys can hit the free throws, 77% as a team.. We will have to keep you off the line for sure. Personally I think it's a bad pairing for us as you can also hit the three, that'll come in handy against the zone. Looks like it'll be a good game but I think we'll prevail by extending the zone out and daring you to beat us inside..

I'm a bit confused by your post though, you lost your starting PG? I thought Mathias Ward was a PF....? Cherry isn't hurt is he?
