12500???

For those of us out of state, this is just a very difficult game to get to. You can't make definite plans till 6 days prior, and many of us are already traveling for thanksgiving. I looked at flights after cat win and there was very little left and what was available requires a HELOC to afford.

Kills me to miss it though.

Missoula and Ravalli Counties, alone, have a population of about 160,000. Why is there a problem packing the house for a playoff game?

Because it's Thanksgiving weekend. Students are back home. Locals have family in town. Don't get me wrong, I would give my third nut to be there, but the reality is that people have shit going on. This isn't a new phenomenon. It has always been this way.

I didn't think it was a serious question....

Haha! So true. I looked at a last minute flight, and I'm not sure I have the equity to fund it! I would have had to connect in your neck of the woods to get there. Couple that with two toddlers who would just be cold and whiny the whole time, and I had to axe the whole idea.

Maybe it wasn't.

Wouldn't you know it? .2506 left us alone once he realized his cat team was lousy and he subsequently quit trolling on our site but climbing out of a hole after we gave him and his team a serious beating in bozeman he now wants some "attention." Serious problems with a lousy team to root for and such bitterness makes this character a danger to society.

Attend in a pink dress with a cat cap on and who the hell gives a rats...

I was going to pass but I am going to take one for the team and head over in the morning if the road is good.

Checked flights last night. About $2,000 in airfare, plus lodging, plus game tickets, to get my brood to this one. It just doesn't pencil this time around. I should've planned it earlier, but I didn't know if we'd be in!

Don't worry, Zen Hammer has your back!!! Just fresh in from my most recent elk hunt. Fairly frosty this morning, I almost threw on the nude leggings but after an intense 60 minute meditation session I was able to completely overcome the sub zero temps of the day!

I knew you'd come through. I'm rocking the nude leggings tomorrow in your honor. Fuck what the neighbors say.

CDA, Under 15K is actually a pretty new development for this fan base. AS mentioned above, the Coastal game was upwards of 17,000, The 2009 SDSU game (Thanksgiving Weekend) was 19,853; the 2008 Texas State game (Thanksgiving Weekend) was 19,244; the 2007 Wofford game (Thanksgiving weekend) was 18,899; the 2006 McNeese State game (Thanksgiving weekend) was 20,431. I'd say under 15K for a first-round playoff game is a fairly new development.

I don't disagree, but I also think we'll get more than 15k.

You are a trooper. I think everybody NOT attending the game should rock the nude leggings also!! May get some funny looks in the sports bars but just remember its for the greater good!! Go Griz!!!

Box, I'm not saying that doesn't have something to do with it. It probably does. But then again, they were 1-2 with two pretty garbage losses in a row, and were 3-4 after a debacle against Weber and still drew over 25,000 for both of those rebound games. I don't think anyone is suggesting that a Thanksgiving weekend game should sell out - it never has, not only at Montana but in the history of the playoffs anywhere probably. But the last two seasons, this game has been especially bad, and wouldn't even fill up the original Wash-Griz.

And on the other hand, this is just another example of why we as a fan base have zero business proclaiming that we are FBS Big Time ready. The fans who aren't going to the game Saturday would be the same fans who would still have "other s--t going on" if the Griz were playing Georgia State in a Sun Belt game this weekend. Meanwhile, Nebraska is 5-6 with a very, very angry fan base, and there are 92,000 fans watching their game with Iowa right now.

Apples and oranges. That would be a regular season conference game (so season ticket holders would already have the tickets). Attendance would likely be quite a bit higher because of that.

First, regular season attendance has nothing to do with playoff attendance...and even more so on Thanksgiving weekend.... Also, this entire conversation has zero to do with any FBS argument.....seems to me, there are only a handful of things that could be the reason for a low attendance....and weather is not one of them....

I was at the UT/Texas Tech game last night. I bet there were 40,000 empty seats in that 105,000 sat stadium. What's their excuse?

I'll just agree to disagree. I don't think a Nov. 28 game against Georgia State would "quite a bit higher". Anyway, the bottom line is, we all agree attendance on this particular weekend has always been weak. That's not up for date, I'm just saying it's a new development for it to be 12,500 weak.
