Missoula and Ravalli Counties, alone, have a population of about 160,000. Why is there a problem packing the house for a playoff game?

Because it's Thanksgiving weekend. Students are back home. Locals have family in town. Don't get me wrong, I would give my third nut to be there, but the reality is that people have shit going on. This isn't a new phenomenon. It has always been this way.

I looked at flights after cat win and there was very little left and what was available requires a HELOC to afford.
Kills me to miss it though.

I didn't think it was a serious question....

Don't worry, Zen Hammer has your back!!! Just fresh in from my most recent elk hunt. Fairly frosty this morning, I almost threw on the nude leggings but after an intense 60 minute meditation session I was able to completely overcome the sub zero temps of the day!

AS mentioned above, the Coastal game was upwards of 17,000, The 2009 SDSU game (Thanksgiving Weekend) was 19,853; the 2008 Texas State game (Thanksgiving Weekend) was 19,244; the 2007 Wofford game (Thanksgiving weekend) was 18,899; the 2006 McNeese State game (Thanksgiving weekend) was 20,431. I'd say under 15K for a first-round playoff game is a fairly new development.

I knew you'd come through. I'm rocking the nude leggings tomorrow in your honor. f*** what the neighbors say.

The fans who aren't going to the game Saturday would be the same fans who would still have "other s--t going on" if the Griz were playing Georgia State in a Sun Belt game this weekend.

But then again, they were 1-2 with two pretty garbage losses in a row, and were 3-4 after a debacle against Weber and still drew over 25,000 for both of those rebound games. I don't think anyone is suggesting that a Thanksgiving weekend game should sell out - it never has, not only at Montana but in the history of the playoffs anywhere probably. But the last two seasons, this game has been especially bad, and wouldn't even fill up the original Wash-Griz.

Meanwhile, Nebraska is 5-6 with a very, very angry fan base, and there are 92,000 fans watching their game with Iowa right now.

Apples and oranges. That would be a regular season conference game (so season ticket holders would already have the tickets). Attendance would likely be quite a bit higher because of that.
