Montana defense is darn good. Made us very one-dimensional. VA a little rusty after 5 weeks. Good luck the rest of the way.

Thank you for saying that. Shows grace in victory. It saddens me that this D is being wasted by an offense that has so much trouble executing.

Good game Eagles. You were the better team today. Good luck to you all.

Griz....not bad, coulda / shoulda been better. I really feel that we are close to the end of our down period. Big changes / good things are on the horizon, and a great Griz team will emerge.

Go Griz !

What conference were the refs from?
Its bad enough to have to endure the BSC refs but when they all live in Cheney.
Way to suck Refs
WAY to many no holding calls and what the hell was with that late hit on JJ

I don't know if I totally agree with that. I think we have good talent but certainly not dominating talent. We had the second best QB on the field today. We had the second best receivers on the field today. Lost of overthrown balls and dropped passes. Our special teams play gave up a TD. Our O line certainly is not the best in the league, or maybe even this game. Many missed tackles. I am certainly not defending this coaching staff as I have stated....it is time for a change of direction. But it is not ALL on the coaches. Players must execute. However, even some of that can lay at the feet of the coaches.

Perhaps not dominating like the Griz have had in the past. I do think it was good enough to win today though, by a two score margin. It seems to me the coaching staff shits down both legs anytime they get some success. Case in point, the first drive. The Griz are basically imposing their will, then get cute with the QB throw back play. WHY? That play should never be called that close to the endzone. With that play, you hope JJ gets lost. When the D only has 12 yards to defend, that makes it easier on the defense. I'm ok with the play, but it's how they applied it that sucked. Ty G refused to matchup personnel wise, and that boggles the mind. People bitch on here about LB's over running tackles, but in space how can you expect a LB'er to keep up with a receiver? The 5 yd out by EWU on third and relatively short (4-6 yds) was almost automatic. Maybe they could have a DB in that situation.

As Bill Bellicheck says, it's all about situational football. Why don't the Griz move the pocket for JJ? He's mobile, throws on the run pretty well, and could always have a run option. It's so crazy it might just work... Not to mention you can run misdirection off of the fakes/runs. With the O-line problems, misdirection would be their best friend. Not to mention they are relatively light, so I imagine they are a little more nimble than we are used to seeing. But nope, it's run, run, fade until they get down and things get desperate. The coaching staff is over their head.

Best cycle that needs to come to an end is The MD era or is that error.

From here, I think it takes a minor miracle to get us into the playoffs. Assuming we win out, it will take some luck with the selection committee. This conference is so tight that we may just be on the outside looking in.

we just lost by ten on the road to a damn good team. We will win the next two. It may take some luck after that...

Football and life.

Hahaha! What are you, 6 years old? Hahahahahahaha

No. Enjoy the victory gift. EWU played well and got the breaks it needed. And there really is no debate about the second part of my statement. :thumb:

How very gracious you are. Jesus, man. Patch up your ass and take your loss like a man. It was a good game.

Excuse CDAGRIZ and his ignorance he is not a true representation of what Griz fans are or should be! Great win here's to hoping that EWU represents the BSC well with a deep run into the post-season. I will be one of the Griz fans rooting for your success!

8-4 GRIZ team with 24 teams selected, hard for me to picture the GRIZ being left out. GRIZ hosting a 1st round game makes money for the NCAA. What other 8-4 BCS program makes the NCAA as much money as Montana in a 1st round game? NONE!!!!!

+1, I root for all BSC teams early in the playoffs. Later in the playoffs depend on how their fans act the message boards.

Thanks for stepping in, but Chad, Ranger, and I have resolved this.

I'm thinking of others in conference like CP, ISU, or Northern Arizona getting the nod. An 8-4 Griz team may not be enough. No way 4 teams from the Big Sky go.

There will be a lot of 4 and 5 loss FCS teams to choose from. Realistically speaking, none of those programs can beat the GRIZ in revenue for the NCAA. Plus beating MSU would finally be the big game W Delaney needs, assuming MSU does not choke to ISU. We have to hope MSU beats ISU to better the GRIZ chances. We cannot prove ourselves against ISU this season. :thumb:

Yep, Montana hasn't played well against the better teams. And in some cases, have played so-so against the average-to-lower teams. Sac. St. was a good defensive effort, but their wins are against BBQ U, Menlo..?, and UNC. Not sure the Griz even host a game in the first round (assuming they win the next two) unless it's only based on bids.

Everyone wants to hang their hat on the Griz getting in because of revenue...not so sure that is as big of a factor as many want it to be.
