Haslam: BK deserves a longer contract

The sad truth of this will be heavily biased to Bobby 3.0's outcome in the Brawl. This is true in both directions, and at least in my opinion, the biggest reason Bobby 2.0 isn't around anymore. Vigen faced mounting pressure when he lost a second game in Missoula and faced many unfair comparisons to Choate and Choate's success in Missoula. The drum beat of "can't win a big game", and "doesn't understand the magnitude of the game" was getting louder and louder.

Not saying this fair treatment, but this is the expected treatment of Bobby 3.0.

Hauck didn’t depart because of outcome of Cat games. The recent outcomes probably caused him to think hard about staying around.

Bobby left because he is making a lot more money with a lot less headache. A deal that was already prearranged before he so called retired. Had nothing to do with the cats.

That’s fair. I still can’t believe Ramos and Otlewski were able to find spots. I always thought they were just fine.
That’s why you are setting behind a keyboard instead of in a position of influence building a college football roster. You admitted you have no clue what coaches at bigger schools look for in FCS transfers.

How are you gonna feel if we give BK a 3 year extension and then we go 8-4 this year? You still gonna think he deserves another couple years when he lost 4 games with an offense that features Ah Yat, Gillman, and Davis? How would he do in 27 without those guys?

We can’t afford to fuck this up. Ride it out with a 1 year deal and then re-evaluate.
I don't believe KAY is going to go anywhere. Davis might though, I guess we will know in about 7 months.

Plenty of people here said similar things when they decided to transfer. I think I have a pretty decent idea who good FCS talent looks like, gotten a front row seat to see a lot of it lately. ;)

They both got FBS offers out of high school from professionals whose job it is to evaluate football talent rather than loudmouths on egriz.

Sure. At the same time, while Colorado State is FBS, I’m not so certain they’d beat either Montana school recently.

Colorado State was actually in the upper tier of the old Mountain West when it comes to supporting football. They won 8 games including going 6-1 in the Mountain West 2 years ago. You must be of the opinion both Montana schools would dominate the Mountain West under their current scholarship limitations.

Its not two years ago anymore. CSU was 2-10 last year. Or did you already forget the whole San Diego St discussion? Mile high fool moniker fits more and more with each post.

I’m of the opinion that of recent, at least MSU would beat them. UM likely does too.

I think this is just an incredibly stupid thing for an AD to say. You either give him the extension or not. You negotiate in the background not make off handed comments to the media he’d like to give him one.

I think BK is doing great so far but as you guys know as soon he loses a game the pressure is on.

I get your point and don’t disagree with your comments. I wonder though if there is more going on the background that we cannot see? Someone much higher up pulling puppet strings and KH is simply lobbying by the only means he has available. As you pointed out, foolish comment. It is the only thing I can think of that would make it somewhat explainable.
