I'd imagine that the reward is just that much greater than the risk when they are running the numbers. These concerts are a big deal for the athletic program, the University, and the community. I'd guess that when they sat down and looked at the numbers, the money coming in was worth far more than the cost of the wear and tear.There is a plastic panel floor that connects and protects it, but given the expense, why not save it a little stress before the inaugural game?
