Miami v Indiana

You quote my post and note they went to 3 down later in the game, but you weren't trying to make it look like I was wrong with my joking comment about the 3-3-5...okay.
No, I was adding additional information. I didn't say they went to 3 down, I said I noticed them with 3 down later in the game "at times", I said nothing about you. You must be insecure. You responded like the jerk you sometimes are.

If you were in fact posting tongue in cheek, why are so you worked up over it. Why say anything? Why not just say you were posting tongue in cheek. You are something else, but at least consistent.

Touché. Too bad the senility seems to be catching up with you.

Sharp as a tack. Writing 3 short "sort of" "books" right now. One on the history of world civilizations. Have listened to 12 books so far, some 25 hours long, and about 20 YouTube video/tapes. And still listening to more books and tapes as I write the piece. Lots of time to listen as I am now aqua-jogging 3 hours a day, and using 1.25 or 1.5 play speed. Got nice Shokz Swim Pro 3 head phones last year, with Blue Tooth, MP3. Can get phone calls too.

At the end of the game, did anyone notice Cignetti's face?
(Dramatic pause)
He smiled! NO SHIT!!! And his face didn't crack into pieces and fall off, revealing his true self, a Cyborg.

Yes, and my wife and I started screaming.
Did you see this punch after game? https://www.espn.com/video/clip/_/id/47667799
I missed that, thanks. I always thought Miami recruiting from the gutters, but I was off the mark. I think they get film of prison exercise yards as a starting point.
Supposedly, Tucker made some remark about Fletchers late father. His reaction is about a classless as Will Smith bitch slapping Chris Rock on stage a few years back.

There are plenty of good people on Miami’s team. One person’s emotional actions doesn’t mean they are recruiting from the gutters.

I like Fletcher and if that comment was true I am glad he went after Tucker. People need to fear more. Especially when they are making comments they wouldn't make face to face.

I think the Ivy schools are allowing only legitimate endorsement-like NIL at this point, but don't know for sure. The Ivies opted out of the settlement, so schools can't pay athletes.

"2. "Legitimate" NIL vs. Collectives

The Ivy League allows what it calls "legitimate" NIL—third-party deals where an athlete is paid by a brand (like Nike or a local business) for an actual service, such as a social media post or an appearance.

Opposition to Collectives: The league has been openly hostile toward "NIL Collectives" (donor-funded pools of money used to lure recruits). While they cannot legally ban them due to state laws, Ivy League athletic departments are prohibited from partnering with or encouraging these collectives.

  • Verification Rules: As of September 2025, the Ivy League requires athletic directors to sign "attestations of independence" for any NIL deal over $2,000. This is an extra layer of oversight to ensure the school didn't help broker the deal as a "pay-for-play" inducement."

I stand by what I said. Their donor bases are on par with or exceed many of those in FBS and most if not all in the FCS. It’s tripe a drop in the bucket for them to be competitive with their endowments alone.

Bryant Haines (IU DC) runs a base 4-3, with mixed in 3-3-5 and occasionally 4-2-5. It's rare to see any less than 3 LB on the field; they like their trio of Fisher, Jones, and Hardy. It's indisputable they do play 3 down, and occasionally 3 down with a standing edge, but they play predominantly 4-3. We likely saw a greater multitude of defensive looks b/c Indiana is down its top two edges and was struggling to create any semblance of a pass rush. They abandoned the rush and dropped 8 at times, at other times they brought disguised pressure with an OLB or DB.

Isn't Indiana's base defense a 4 man front? The different mixes you mentioned are stunts out of the base defense? I could be wrong.....
These weren’t “stunts”. That’s how they liked up. Wasn’t saying they used 3 front base.

One of those backers is somewhere in between a backer and nickel and pretty versatile which allows them to adjust much more without heavy substitutions

The big donor bases donate to the college, academics and need-based scholarships more than to sports. They donate for buildings and endowments for coaches. The big university endowments aren’t given to sports. At least my schools forces athletics to raise a big chunk of its athletic funding. Harvard has 42 sports.
