Miami v Indiana

I think John Cougar is a big donor too. That was a lot of fun. Here is list of top 10 Universities by number of billionaire alumni. Maybe Stanford next? USC should be top 4 every year when you consider money, tradition and location. Southern California is loaded with talent.

6 of the Ivies, Not Brown or Dartmouth,

NDSU finished 16-0 to win a National Championship under coach Matt Entz..

You're wrong yet again, like I said you have no credibility on this board..
Major College Football is the term ESPN used. Doesn’t include lower classifications.

Exactly why the ivies could be the sleeping giants in the FCS.

Ahmad Moten Sr. Is an absolute freak athlete on the defensive line for Miami. He made some really good lineman look subpar tonight.

I think the Ivy schools are allowing only legitimate endorsement-like NIL at this point, but don't know for sure. The Ivies opted out of the settlement, so schools can't pay athletes.

"2. "Legitimate" NIL vs. Collectives

The Ivy League allows what it calls "legitimate" NIL—third-party deals where an athlete is paid by a brand (like Nike or a local business) for an actual service, such as a social media post or an appearance.

Opposition to Collectives: The league has been openly hostile toward "NIL Collectives" (donor-funded pools of money used to lure recruits). While they cannot legally ban them due to state laws, Ivy League athletic departments are prohibited from partnering with or encouraging these collectives.

  • Verification Rules: As of September 2025, the Ivy League requires athletic directors to sign "attestations of independence" for any NIL deal over $2,000. This is an extra layer of oversight to ensure the school didn't help broker the deal as a "pay-for-play" inducement."

  • Modern Comparison: Connelly's comment connects to the recent Indiana Hoosiers finishing their season 16-0 in the expanded playoff system, making them the first since 1894 to reach that mark, but with a different context.
In essence, Connelly is pointing out that while 1894 Yale was historically great and undefeated, their perfect season was in a vastly different era of college football, full of lopsided games, even as another 16-0 team (Indiana) recently emerged under modern rules. ”

The (real) Portal King tops off a two-year rebuild with a national title. An official welcome to the new era of college football.
Talent evaluator king. Miami has double the amount of NFL prospects according to some talking head on ESPN. So obviously discipline and system coaching king as well. Be interesting to compare the amount dished out in NIL. I did read Miami has a couple big money donors that have "invested" in the program, though IU also has ramped it up recently. Huge alumni bases in the BIG.

Also this would be as improbable as Northern Colorado making a run to the playoffs in one year and then the championship the next in the FCS. Everyone needs a Mark Cuban type alum to make this happen. I’m glad it was Indiana. Who’s next? Vandy has been close.
From what I've read Miami is top ten in money spent on payroll. Is there an official list of NIL amounts out there, haven't run across one? If they want to keep it on the down low it tells you all you need to know.:ROFLMAO:

well, they bought carson beck away from georgia, and now that he'll be gone they've been trying to buy another qb. apparently they even offered the alabama qb something like $6 million to skip the nfl draft and play a year in miami.

college football isn't college football anymore.

I also took naps during some Griz games in college but that was due to high alcohol consumption before rather than not being interested in the game.
I have a high school friend that drank too much and fell asleep on the toilet at Brick Breeden during Griz Cat one year. Game was over and building empty when we woke up.
