Shaun Boykins flipped his verbal commitment to Delaware

This is 100% fact people. I was actually just about to write something very similar.
No, it wasn't 100% factual. In fact, the very first thing he said was DEAD WRONG. And, can you now admit that what I have been saying is absolutely right? UM has dominated the Portal compared to MSU.

Indiana and Cignetti. The wave of the future.

"Look at what the Hoosiers have done in the transfer portal since Cignetti arrived. In 2024, Indiana signed 30 transfers, including 13 who came with him from James Madison, his former employer. Of the 30 transfers, 13 started 10 or more games for the 2024 Hoosiers, and 20 played 250 or more snaps.

Five of those players — defensive linemen Mikail Kamara and Tyrique Tucker, linebacker Aiden Fisher, cornerback D’Angelo Ponds and receiver Elijah Sarratt — are starters on the 2025 Hoosiers.

Before this season, Cignetti and his staff signed 22 more transfers. All but nine have played at least 250 snaps, seven have started six or more games and again, there’s a ton of impact. Cal transfer quarterback Fernando Mendoza won the Heisman Trophy. Notre Dame transfer center Pat Coogan has been an invaluable part of the offensive line. Kent State defensive line transfer Stephen Daley, who suffered a season-ending injury after the Big Ten Championship Game, finished third in the FBS in tackles for loss. The list of 2025 transfer hits goes on.

Since this year’s transfer portal opened on Jan. 2, the Hoosiers have been on fire. They signed TCU’s Josh Hoover, The Athletic’s No. 4 portal quarterback, and also added Michigan State’s Nick Marsh, one of the top receivers in the portal, and running back Turbo Richard, who was Boston College’s leading rusher. On defense, two talented edge rushers from Kansas State, Tobi Osunsanmi and Chiddi Obiazor, committed to join the Hoosiers. They’ve made 11 total additions so far, with those five expected to make the biggest impact."

Ah yes...this is correct. UM has overall done better replacing players. I will say though, that certain portal players have performed well for MSU in their system. I think both ways can win championships. It is more difficult at FCS level in my opinion just because of the money issue, but certainly 13-2 is an excellent record.

So why is it so hard for so many posters to refrain from attacking me when what I am saying is right? I think it's funny how stupid some posters make themselves look when they are trying so hard to disagree with me. I see it frequently.

Who are the MSU portal players than have done so well? The QB. The RB this year. My impression is that the number is tiny compared to high-performing players at UM.

Ok sure, I'll play your game.

MSU is woefully behind UM in the portal game because UM brings in so many transfers, where it seems the majority either have one season to play, or they play well and promptly decide to transfer out again, resulting in bringing in more transfers. Sounds like a fun cycle to be in. Clearly it worked pretty well last year. Only lost 2 games, although the year prior things didn't go nearly as well. We'll see how it goes this year. So yes, UM has brought in more transfer players who have contributed. I would argue that MSU brought in the transfer player who contributed the most towards team success in Justin Lamson, but I'm sure that doesn't matter.

By your same logic, I think we can safely say that UM is woefully behind MSU in high school recruiting. Woefully behind MSU in developing players. Woefully behind MSU in building up offensive/defensive line talent and depth. Woefully behind MSU in recent BSC championships. Woefully behind MSU in recent national championship victories and appearances.

I know which category I'd rather be in. You take the portal wins, the offseason championships, I'll take the real one.
Hoops and 99 - on behalf of the free world, take your immature and meaningless pillow fight littered with homosexual undertones, not that there’s anything wrong with that, to a private forum for just you two. Thank you.

I think taking a step back, you cannot argue that 13-2 and a semi-final run is not a good season. Unfortunately, the other team had a better season and that is enough to get people fired up.

Cignetti also said that as high school recruiting builds up, that he wants to wean off getting transfers as much.

He also said that the advantage of getting transfers is bringing in older, mature, players that have played a lot of snaps. Which is not necessarily what UM is doing. You have that in Orlandi, who I like a lot, and Wortham and Tolbert and some others last year, but I'm not seeing as much of that this year.

See above comments. And, can you now just admit that what I have been saying on UM dominating the Portal was in right, and what you were trying to say on that point was wrong. Why can't some of you look at what I am saying, and address that? Why do you have to run off. responding to something I never said, or didn't address? There are some horrible readers and thinkers on egriz. Just horrible. Your last post was much better.
Sure, UM has dominated the portal, MSU has dominated everything else, including the only thing that matters: on field play. 2-0 vs UM this most recent season, and won the national championship. Glad you dominated the portal though! Happy for you!

Thank you 2-6 Hauck2.0!

This! Who cares if your portal signees are better? Obviously the one team didn’t need as many as evidenced by their two wins and national championship. To tout that the Griz did better than the Cats in the portal is one of the dumbest flexes that I have ever seen. On field results are all that matters. Period.

It's all that matters to those who only look to the past. Period. Those who look to the future can see that the staff is doing some great recruiting, using whatever sources are available.

This hits it pretty much. I'll just add the Cats pick up players because they want to. Gris pick up players because they have to.

Hmmm. So Vigen didn't "have to" find somebody to replace Tommy?
Nope. Four other QBs in development, and that was an exciting and competitive spring season at QB without Tommy. He reached out to Lamson because he had previously recruited him and knew him and his family. Vigen wasn't in panic mode at QB but was willing to take a slam dunk if available. You know the rest of the story.

You think you win it all without Lamson?

While you celebrate moral victories in the portal, I prefer the strategy that results in beating our rivals, winning the conference, and Natties. Keep coping boomer.

No. Davis, Eckert and Meredith played critical roles too that all led to a championship team. Vigen continues to use the portal to maximum effect.

I'll say this again and as clearly as possible: the narrative that the Cats don't use the portal, or that the Cats are somehow behind the gris in the portal, or that somehow having a huge number of year over year portal transfers is a good thing, comes entirely from idiots and unknowledgeable egris posters.

I can't agree with you you when half your posts use gris. Just makes you look like a tool.

Half? Show me a post since the tennis team IG when I haven't used gris.

Any comment on the substance of my post?
I have no idea about your posts when you started using Gris. I really don’t read most of your posts because I have come to realize you are here generally with the intention of being a dick. There are a couple Cats on here worth interacting with because they seem like reasonable decent people. You come here to provoke people so I don’t give one shit about the substance of any of your posts.
