Get back to me on January 17th on how the incoming and outgoing transfers compare between MSU and UM. I guarantee UM will beat MSU in the portal this year, if for nothing else all the guys that would have be in the portal now if we won in Bozeman are still going to leave the Cats and they are a week behind on getting incoming players through the portal.

The reality of playing in the championship win or lose is your portal class will be poor for the following season based on the timing.

Have you seen this generation? Watch Otlewski’s transfer announcement if you are not sure that some of this generation, even really talented and strong athletes can be kind of soft.

The Cats have been losing key players in the portal the last few seasons. Even so, they have not been that active in the portal. They have gone with player development.
Oh, I know, but if that WAS the reason, then good riddance.

Still a lot of turnover on the rosters of the top FBS teams but it is mostly depth guys leaving and stars at another school coming in.
I'd be very surprised if Lamson left. He's already been at a couple FBS schools and didn't get the playing time he wanted, and has been pretty vocal about how much he loves being in Bozeman and playing for a school where the community actually cares about football. Plus, he's only got one year left, he's not an NFL prospect, why take the risk that you'll go somewhere and not be the dude?
It's pretty likely UM "beats" MSU in the portal when they have to replace another 30 or so players and almost the entire starting lineup. Anyways, coaches generally know who's leaving and who's staying and will recruit accordingly. Just because they're still playing doesn't mean the coaches aren't still recruiting.
