Wilkinson transferring

Zero percent a thing. Like, not whatsoever.
Are you saying Loud is not our best corner in coverage or that it is not a coaching strategy to not send your best coverage corner on blitzes? The reasoning behind it is to prevent injuries from happening exactly like what happened here.

Everything you keep saying. Loud was our best cover corner, Lawler was great too. But your point of not sending a particular corner on blitz is not a thing. Ever. Scheme is meant not to be predictable.

If you watch the Seahawks vs Panthers game at 11 today, watch how many times Jaycee Horn blitzes. Coverage corners are not never sent on blitz, as you said scheme is not meant to be predictable. The coverage corner generally does blitz less than the strong corner across all high levels of football. If you have a corner that is way better at coverage his blitz rate will be very low. Jaycee Horn will be a good example today. Patrick Surtain and Trent Mcduffie also are good examples of coverage corners that rarely blitz in the NFL but they already played this week.

Dumbest post yet. Tell us you know zero about secondary play without telling us...
You're clueless. The best cover corner rarely stunts. I'm imagining you as Jimmy's D-coordinator with the Cowboys, stunting Sander instead of Smith or Marion, and how quickly you would have been fired.

Corners don't blitz often, in general. But I can assure you, the best cover corners are also sent on blitzes. Not always, of course. I cant believe im explaining this.

It depends on the coaching staff. Some send their best coverage corner on blitzes all the time if the player has a strong blitz and coverage skillset. Trumaine Johnson is a good example of this. Some coaches also rarely send their coverage corner on blitzes as a strategy to limit injuries. There is not a right or wrong answer on what to do without understanding the personnel you are working with. It is lazy to just say a post is dumb without backing your opinion with reasoning and I appreciate you responding. My personal opinion is I do not know enough about the play and specific situation to say whether or not blitzing Loud was putting him in the wrong position which led to injury. I am just saying it is worth considering and the statement “you are supposed to stunt with your strong corner and not your coverage corner” is a football term that could be correct in this situation. I am not saying it is because I do not have enough info to make that judgement but I do have enough to know it is at least worth considering and not just shutting down as the dumbest post you have ever seen.
