maybe once upon a time, but language is an evolving thing, and the common definition of 'fan' is different from 'fanatic'. a fanatic is an extremist, whereas a fan can simply be a casual supporter of a team. *according to me
But if you dare be critical of repeated failure to REACH those high expectations you’re labeled a bad fan on here by many.

Jury is still out, actually. There is a difference between the neggies, and demanding excellence. The neggies for instance, were negative and pessimistic about ah yat to start the season. Then, they were wrong there. Then, they were negative about our defense, then our o line, then after the eastern Washington game, basically our whole damn team. And we were 10-0. Then of course, they've been gloating ever since we got beat by our rivals because "WE WERE RIGHT!!!"
It was actually quite a display celebrating pessimism, and begrudging success. A true lovers mentality. Demanding excellence is going directly to the source, identifying the root cause of underperformance, calling out true defiencies, and striving to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. Huge differences here.

I want to see a clear and concise 5,10,15, 25 year plan instead of this reactionary BS. It should be sent out to the masses and get all of Griz nation in lock step. Until we have some vision for the athletic department as a whole, we will continue to fall short.
The neighbors currently have (and have had for awhile now) a very clear plan, and the fans have been part of that which builds the excitement and the $$$. They have turned the litterbox into something semi cohesive and organized, and have a plan to make it not so ramshackle to trump the capacity of WaGriz.
Cito was right that we need to invest in the complex at Dornblaser around one of our most exciting and successful programs and carry that into softball and track. Instead we lost him and a lot of our soccer team to a neighboring FBS institution. Soccer is the one team that could have competed at the upper level nationally with the current landscape. Now it’s been set back 10 years. Golf is rarely competitive. Tennis is a bright spot and we leveled their courts.
The brand has gotten stale and I don’t see anyone at the university or athletic department that wants to move forward and not live in the past. Guess I’m a bad fan.
