Bobby is now 0-5 in National Championship games

I don't think the cats have better talent. They have developed their players better and that's exactly how NDSU operates. Vigen was/is an NDSU underling. He brought the NDSU model to MSU.
Maybe. I didn’t see a team get out coached today. I saw a team with superior talent wear down a team with less strength and talent. Base the better team win decisively. No shame in that just need to get better. The only shame is what holds you back from getting better.

Next time?

As mentioned in another thread we're not going to lose Bobby anytime soon, 13 wins and beating everyone but the Cats after a Home playoff stint isn't the recipe for failure or firing which unfortunately means no changes will probably be made.

Tony Annese, HC at Ferris State, is 63 years old but he has won CHAMPIONSHIPS at every level of football he has coached.
Of course there are older coaches that are and have been successful. I still think, in general, we are looking for an ambitious younger coach with some good experience. To be replaced by an ambitious younger coach with some good experience when the predecessor moves on. If Tony Annese has won at all levels he probably was one of these young ambitious coaches at one point.

I am not saying Bobby is the greatest, but this is an asinine take.
Thankfully you aren't gods gift to football. If you're okay with 8-13 win seasons, more losses to the Cats than wins and losses at home to the Cats and sometimes two losses to the Cats in one season and no National Championships EVER after 13 seasons, then by all means, keep the status quo.

The Griz were still in better shape than the Cats when he got here, even if they did drop two games at the end. the cats weren’t national title contenders until Bobby’s 3rd season.

Thats what I don’t get about you Bobby defenders. The bubs ascendency happened under his watch.
Montana was not in better shape than the Cats when Bobby came back in 2018. We were already in a 2 game losing streak to the Cats and our trajectory was going in reverse compared to MSU’s rise. That was why we fired Stitt faster than he could blink and brought Bobby back. Say what you want about Bobby’s results in big games (and yeah, they’re not good) but we’d be absolutely mediocre still at this point had we stuck with Stitt another year or two.

MSU was clearly trending upward, and that’s not something Bobby had or has any control of.

This is on Bobby and his staff, it was coaching. How does he keep his job. If it were anyone else they all would be gone. There is literally no one else to play inI I-AA - all the good teams are in the Sunbelt. And outside of WA-Griz we lose to every real team left, and inside WA-Griz we lose to the Cats. The future belongs to the Cats.

Is that what I said?

Hauck 1.0 - No. Hauck 2.0 when it comes to games against the rival? Yes!!

Hauck 2.0 is 2-6 and Rob Ash was 2-7. Next year, the game is in Bozeman and Hauck 2.0 will be 2-7. On par with Rob Ash.

Yet some people think the status quo is just fine. Go figure.
It’s easy to see why. I mean we just went 13-2 with a deep playoff run. By anyone else’s standard that is success. There’s teams ALL OVER THE COUNTRY that would love that.
People are afraid of the “what if’s”

I'm looking at next year's away games:

-Oregon State
-Davis
-NAU
-EWU
-MSU

All of them are places we seem to struggle at historically in Conference play plus an FBS team. Perhaps I'm being overly negative atm but I think it's a possibility we could lose all of these. I'll feel alot better if the issues on Defense and the Line of Scrimmage are actually addressed this off season

It's too early to start making prognostications for next year but we can chalk an L next to MSU. Guaranteed.

Stitt was awesome and he is anyone.
Stitt was a mess. His lines were shockingly bad. Seymore’s interior linemen standing up scheme was so easy to run on it was embarrassing. Minus the very first game, Stitts teams regressed the program hard. He had great skill talent, but that was about it. He somehow had this mad scientist moniker but in reality his offenses, once they got on film, were predictable. Not FCS level. They worked (ish) at mines, but he never got out of the second round at the D2 level. Or at the FCS level either. Hauck is much more successful than Stitt was. He was better at the social media game, though.

Although he was the coach when Case Cookus got ejected for targeting then flipped out. That was such an odd game.
