Weather for game

It makes no difference to me but just seems odd that UM doesn't start selling tickets to General public until Wednesday. The MSU-Bozeman starts selling them right away.

Even for the last round, MSU was actively selling tickets over Thanksgiving weekend when the Griz were not...

It used to be you could still buy seats and then even more would become available if season tickets holders didn't buy them.

Attendance was up in Bozeman... just wondering if it would help UM to open ticket sales sooner. Seems like good business sense as opposed to waiting.

Tickets are almost sold out in Bozeman this weekend and UM hasn't even started selling to general public.

I swear you could write a psychological case study on Griz fans and the weather. It’s bizarre. I was at the Tech game two weeks ago and it was 10 degrees outside, and you didn’t hear near the whining you get for a 35-degree Griz game. You almost never hear this shit in Bozeman, and the weather is usually worse over there. Have never wrapped my head around this…..

Also, weather might just determine whether the Game Plan is reduced to running the football and/or conducive to a passing game. If snow/rain then the running game would be the wisest. If bright sunny with no precipitation, the passing game comes into play a lot more so than a snowy day. That's my consideration.

Some of the greatest moments in Griz football history have happened inside WaGriz during the playoffs. As hard as it sometimes is to get there, from Billings in my case, we do everything we can do to make sure we are watching from our seats in section 105.
Excited for the game ahead. We will need to get the heck out of Billings early on Friday as there is a significant snow storm expected Thursday night & Friday in Billings. Looks good from Bozeman to Missoula.
Go Griz!

Was there a lot of "loud" talk though?

I noticed the UM Ticket Office email said there’s a couple promos. Tickets are $45 but they’re selling SEZ tickets for $31, and a special deal for UM faculty, MCPS teachers, and any family and friends of UM Winter graduates get a special $15 rate on tickets.
That’s great. Anything to pack the place and make it look better for a national audience in that SEZ view

Nope, I’m 79 and a road warrior! No excuses, friend, only an hour away!
Fantastic. More power to you. You are obviously the standard of health and vitality for your age - so is my dad at the same age. However, you can't apply your standards for yourself to everyone else in different bodies.

Maybe the goal should be to try to get more younger fans to be engaged and show up for the games and be loud rather than trying to shame longtime fans who would be there if they could. My little mama would love nothing more to be there but she would seriously freeze to death and probably end up in the hospital which doesn't do anybody any good.

No shame, just banter…..yes, we will all “age out” at different rates. Just go for it as you can. So far, I’m fortunate but a little creaky!

This is a bigger issue moving forward and outside of the playoff representation. We have an aging fanbase and though there are many generations that have introduced new Griz fans, it won’t make up for the fact that these 2 younger generations are not getting much of their entertainment from athletics in general especially live events in the streaming era. That last part isn’t unique to a specific generation but to all sports fans. It’s part of why schools like Oklahoma have announced decreased seats and stadium capacity to increase fan experience in other ways. Nebraska toyed with the same thing.

I have friends who just enjoy their big screens, comfort of home, and a group of fans for a party instead of the expense of being present. Big competition for butts in the seats, and they used to always travel. Good post, Wolf.

I have a modest proposal to get the young folks into the seats at Wa-Griz and keep them engaged.

Or more, and over 300 miles and 3 passes to cover to get there. That's where the 85" TV and the fireplace come into consideration. Yeah, concessions to the Golden Years.
Are you and Mom going to make it to South Dakota game? Game weather is nice. Looks like you will get out of any bad roads before Livingston? Need Mom there to keep fans involved!
