Transfer Bobcat Cornerback Dismissed from Team Yesterday

You think the WAGS don't know how to spot makeup covered bruises under large sunglasses. You don't think these friends know what the aftermath of a beating does to another in not just her looks, but her temperament, personality, or actions? Even if they don't talk about it, those around them do know. And everyone tells their boyfriend/husband. I can't believe this MSU attitude of "our college coaches and players are family.... except when it comes to abusers in our midst."
I happen to disagree with you. In my long life I have read articles and know of experiences where abuse happens and nobody knew until it became extreme or too late. That includes family and good friends. Like I said previously, I believe any coach at any college or university, if they knew a player or even heard that a player was abusing a women, that they would address that player and take action right away.

Without a charge and conviction as absolute proof, which you say there never was in Nevada, could taking action possibly look like benching a player and telling them they are not welcome back after the season?

What is interesting to me with the vetting is that one article says that there had been "20 to 30 physical incidents and too many verbally abusive incidents to count during the 3.5-year." He came from Nevada. So there are only two options that I can think of.

1) Vigen was too proud or somehow unwilling to contact Choate, Robertson, and whoever else is there on staff at Nevada that used to be at MSU.

2) The Choate staff intentionally misled Vigen about the kid.

Both options have interesting implications.
3) Coach Dynamism (Sixx) called Choate asking about the kid, Choate went on a Riding for the Brand rant before giving information about the kid. By that time Sixx was 20 minutes into his daily noon nap.

The article states he was arrested for a misdemeanor and it was a first offense.

With around 105 players on the team I can see where a head coach is not aware of what is going on in one players personal life. If Choate knew, I don't think he would intentionally deceive and would have addressed an issue like that with the player if he had known about it. That is serious stuff.
🤣😂🤣 Let me guess, you’re still raising funds for the Choate statue celebrating his vaunted 55% winning percentage.

CDA’s back and there’s a cats’ fucked up thread on eGriz. I just told my assistant to cancel all my appointments for tomorrow.

Over the years Nevada has dealt with several players getting in trouble. I don't know if it is the culture of Reno or what? It has happened under different coaches so I won't say institutional control.

As far as the cat that was dismissed I won't comment it could happen in Missoula too.

Domestic violence is a huge problem in America and one fueled by alcohol a lot of the times.
As my friends from Reno have said to me, Reno is filled with dirt bags.

What if the coach knew that a coach was abusing players like Joe Paterno at Penn State? Would they take action right away?

First of all, it was the article that said it was Parker’s first offense. Second, if Jeff Choate knew that this player was abusing a women , he would have been long gone. Jeff Choate in no way would tolerate that and allow this guy on the team period.

Look what happened to Joe Paterno and their program for years. Not good. Yes, I believe a head coach would fire an assistant coach for abusing players without hesitation. If they tolerated it, they would be a complete idiot.

-Both got removed from the team
Boom! There’s #5 and the over hits.

Guess it’s really no surprise that at least 5 bubz trollz would show up and try to excuse this deplorable behavior and the despicable program that endorses it and allows it to continue. Probably a bunch of bubz biting their tongues because I said something in the 2d post. If I didn’t say anything, the real o/u line would have been closer to at least 12.5.

You could benefit from shadowing a victim's advocate for a month or two. I believe it might open your squinty eyes.

You're really putting Choate on a pedestal here.

And, again, is that first offense ever or first misdemeanor in Montana? Were the cops ever called in the past in Nevada, but no charge filed? Were charges filed and quietly dropped? You don't know. Neither do I. Fun game.

-I am not excusing what had occured, and to be honest, I abhor what has occured, especially with the coaching staff getting DUIS..and keeping their jobs until the end of the season

I am not putting him on a pedestal. I personally know Jeff very well. He would dismiss that player immediately if he knew. There is no wiggle room with him especially with something like this.

I only know what is in the article where it said it was a first offense. However, If there were any type of charges in Nevada and dropped, Jeff would have known and he would have been gone. If he had heard thru locker room gossip or whatever that the cops were called and no charges filed, knowing Jeff he would be all over this guy. He just does not tolerate any bullsh-t period.

He was gone.... That's the point. He was sent away to MSU.

Still kind of seems like you are putting him on a pedestal, though. ;)

You are really stretching. Jeff Choate in NO WAY would let this player transfer to another school, especially MSU, if he was aware of this player's abuse of his girlfriend.

He is putting him on a pedestal. Choate is not the next coming of JC. More than likely he had no clue about any incidents with this player who appears to be a chronic abuser. Even if he did, without proof he would potentially counsel the kid, but doubtful he would kick him off the team with no proof. Domestic abuse victims do a lot to cover for their abusers in many cases. Especially a victim who sticks around after multiple incidents. So, what is wrong in Bozeman? Culture and winning at all costs. There really isn’t a doubt about that at this juncture in time. Two recruits done. Multiple coaches with DUI’s. Coincidence? No. Flip the script and change the teams. If this was the U of M, Bobby would be getting crucified by the Missoulian and Bobcan’t fans. I am going to make a prediction right now. The shine is off Vegan and his struggles in the next few years will lead to him seeking another job or being shown the door. 24 months and he will be gone. Choate’s recruits are out the door and Tommy is gone. Uphill battle and I don’t think Vegan is a dynamic enough coach to pull it all back together.

Bobby would have had people outside his house with torches and pitchforks by now if you flip it.
