Or any tight end for that matter. They sure have not over used Grossman since he got back!
The huskers beat an awful Wisconsin team. Maybe a top tier qb is the answer? Our two are average game managers.1 Game in and Nebraska's offense has worked wonders, just by changing Dana Holgorson to OC.
He told the hbs to break more tackles and the WRs to block, then be rewarded.
Mission accomplished! Nebraska dominated WI in game 1 with the OC change.
Could Linehan make that kind of positive impact?
If so, probably a good time to change OC.Fife lost the 3 games he started and played the majority of the games against Weber St, UCD and MSU. I am guessing the 4th will come this Saturday if he starts and plays the majority of the game.
With any HC Montana has had since 1980 this game on Saturday would be won by 30+ My Griz are gonna have their hands full on Saturday with the QB from Tenn St. Hoping we can scratch out a win but I wont hold my breath with the HC we have calling the shots.
Absolutely but....we all know that ain't gonna happen until bobby leaves or runs out of relatives. If so, probably a good time to change OC.
Agreed, Pease should be head coach then he can call the plays without oversight. If so, probably a good time to change OC.
Would he recruit better?Agreed, Pease should be head coach then he can call the plays without oversight.
Nobody would touch our offense for a decade
How hard would it be to replicate mediocrity? A coin flip could do that. Players love Pease, Hauck not so much and there is close to 2 decades of research to confirm that.Would he recruit better?
Then WHY can't he adapt again for Fife, Ah Yat, and whomever else is at QB? Or RB, TE, WR?I personally haven't been a big fan of his scheme since last season, granted McDowell came in and it seemed he actually adapted his play calling to fit Cliffs strengths in order to succeed. However, that isn't the case this season, lots of awful decision making and plainly bad play calling.
I’ve got to know because you don’t seem to be a troll. You’re a recent former player? How hard would it be to replicate mediocrity? A coin flip could do that. Players love Pease, Hauck not so much and there is close to 2 decades of research to confirm that.
Last year in Frisco I met so many former players that couldn't stand Hauck when they played for him. Most of them in hindsight say they respect him now but couldn't stand him then. So universal and so relatable.
I would think Pease would dominate recruiting just on his personality alone, no comparison.
No
Pease is handcuffed all the time with personnel decisions, scheme and play calling. On defense we would notice it often. In practice Pease would name play calls that would take the defense apart and hauck would rein it in saying "that's not what we are about" or "that's not our identity".
Source? You must have the hearing ability of my Black Lab, or can read lips. What the Griz 'are about' has become losing, and 'our identity' confirms this after that fiasco in Bozo.
No consistency, pick one and go to work, you cant flip flop and expect anyone to flourish, listen to the players instead of going against the grain just because you are the HCThen WHY can't he adapt again for Fife, Ah Yat, and whomever else is at QB? Or RB, TE, WR?
I watch every Nebraska game. The huskers beat an awful Wisconsin team. Maybe a top tier qb is the answer? Our two are average game managers.
Ok, Brent.Pease hasn't had an off day since he's been at UM. He dominates everything in his path that why he gets buy in from the players. They know
Idk that's what's bugging meThen WHY can't he adapt again for Fife, Ah Yat, and whomever else is at QB? Or RB, TE, WR?
If your metric is wins then you have to agree that Clif was an elite QB. Perhaps the highest winning percentage in Griz history.Fife lost the 3 games he started and played the majority of the games against Weber St, UCD and MSU. I am guessing the 4th will come this Saturday if he starts and plays the majority of the game.

Nothing elite about Cliff. The 2023 griz were, collectively, a really good team statistically including a trip to the chipper. If your metric is wins then you have to agree that Clif was an elite QB. Perhaps the highest winning percentage in Griz history.
11-1 as a starter is elite in every aspect.Nothing elite about Cliff. The 2023 griz were, collectively, a really good team statistically including a trip to the chipper.
