OC Change Can Work Wonders

1 Game in and Nebraska's offense has worked wonders, just by changing Dana Holgorson to OC.

He told the hbs to break more tackles and the WRs to block, then be rewarded.

Mission accomplished! Nebraska dominated WI in game 1 with the OC change.

Could Linehan make that kind of positive impact?
The huskers beat an awful Wisconsin team. Maybe a top tier qb is the answer? Our two are average game managers.

Fife lost the 3 games he started and played the majority of the games against Weber St, UCD and MSU. I am guessing the 4th will come this Saturday if he starts and plays the majority of the game.

With any HC Montana has had since 1980 this game on Saturday would be won by 30+ My Griz are gonna have their hands full on Saturday with the QB from Tenn St. Hoping we can scratch out a win but I wont hold my breath with the HC we have calling the shots.

If so, probably a good time to change OC.

Would he recruit better?
How hard would it be to replicate mediocrity? A coin flip could do that. Players love Pease, Hauck not so much and there is close to 2 decades of research to confirm that.

Last year in Frisco I met so many former players that couldn't stand Hauck when they played for him. Most of them in hindsight say they respect him now but couldn't stand him then. So universal and so relatable.

I would think Pease would dominate recruiting just on his personality alone, no comparison.

I personally haven't been a big fan of his scheme since last season, granted McDowell came in and it seemed he actually adapted his play calling to fit Cliffs strengths in order to succeed. However, that isn't the case this season, lots of awful decision making and plainly bad play calling.
Then WHY can't he adapt again for Fife, Ah Yat, and whomever else is at QB? Or RB, TE, WR?

I’ve got to know because you don’t seem to be a troll. You’re a recent former player?

No

Pease is handcuffed all the time with personnel decisions, scheme and play calling. On defense we would notice it often. In practice Pease would name play calls that would take the defense apart and hauck would rein it in saying "that's not what we are about" or "that's not our identity".

Source? You must have the hearing ability of my Black Lab, or can read lips. What the Griz 'are about' has become losing, and 'our identity' confirms this after that fiasco in Bozo.

No consistency, pick one and go to work, you cant flip flop and expect anyone to flourish, listen to the players instead of going against the grain just because you are the HC

If you are handcuffed, why do you stay on? I can't imagine you don't have a say in the offensive game plan.

I watch every Nebraska game.
That offense has been inconsistent against other teams of WI level. Even the commentary team said, the offense performed better, with the change. They commented that Holgorsen's analysis of the offense is accurate.

Raiola's play improved, because he's more comfortable with the OC change.

Play designs were much better for freeing up their skill position players.

The question is, how much more improvement can they do this late in a season? Being bowl eligible certainly will be beneficial for them.

Agree or disagree on this, at the very least Husker Nation has new and better hope.
I feel the GRIZ need change as well.

If your metric is wins then you have to agree that Clif was an elite QB. Perhaps the highest winning percentage in Griz history.

Nothing elite about Cliff. The 2023 griz were, collectively, a really good team statistically including a trip to the chipper.
