Is it time for coaching changes at Montana ?

I was concerened about the lack of intensity this year, special teams you could always count on, tackling took the year off, have never seen this in a bobby team.
As someone said here bobby is not a portal coach

The OL coach is good. Had a lot of success at UND. Can’t make a lot out of nothing, if you get what I’m saying. Overall recruiting needs to get better, especially on the line play.
Just made a list of the offers out OL commits had
Kaikoa Kanakaole- Nevada
Quinlan Hyatt- Idaho
Forrest Carter- Idaho
Lincoln Hoefer- None that I could find. I don’t know why we aren’t competing with many teams for guys. Most of the recruiting class we were competing with NAIA teams and that needs to step up.

More than we can afford since he’s in the NFL now where he wants to be.
So one of the things that really sucks about NIL and having to constantly recruit your own players to stay, is that not all coaches want to put up with it anymore. Saban pretty much said it played a large part in his retirement, Farley from NIU said that’s why he retired, Boston College’s HC left to take a DC job in the NFL because of it. Some of these guys just want to coach and not deal with recruiting 24/7, and frankly, I don’t blame them.

Adapt or die.

Bobby ain't going anywhere. He's a top tier coach w.r.t. win/loss and the probability of getting anyone else to do better is slim. Replacing a coach with a great record who crushed the in-state rival last two home games and made it to the chipper last year? Crazy IMHO.

Biased opinion, repeat of previous posts: He'll be back on top if he fixes his recruiting issues: O and D lines, and losing some top notch in-state players that could be developed. If his recruiting game doesn't change very quickly, like right now, going to same/same until his contract runs out.

griz could easily turn it on in the playoffs, wouldn't surprise me one bit, and all this talk goes away. The chances of any replacement doing that in the near future are way low.

Nobody is getting fired and nobody should get fired. Every great program is one bad hire away from being average and two bad hires away from being horrible. We know that.

Now we get to see what Vigen can do without the greatest Senior class in the history of MSU, who he didn’t recruit. Cannot wait till next year. We will blow them out of the Stadium, again.

I think he had a lot to do with developing them into great players and look at all the good players he has recruited...Not sure he will have an easy time replacing the QB but where else will he be hurting?

one thing I know is all the bobcat fans sitting behind Bobby were constantly telling him how much they loved him and were hoping he would never leave...Not making it up every 5 minutes someone would yell out "we love you bobby never leave"

What he REALLY had a lot to do with was developing a system that leveraged the unique talents of his skill players. Something Bobby/Pease et al refuse to do. Bobby continues trying to cram square pegs into round holes, getting the same result, and wondering why its not working.

If you look at the 2 deep, MSU has about twice as many freshman and sophomores on there compared to UM. I doubt MSU will be as good next year, but they should be a 3-4 loss team at worst.

So they had 2x the underclassmen as the Griz, beat our ass, went 12-0 and all those guys are gonna be bigger and stronger next year but they’re gonna lose 3-4 games? Make it make sense…

The Cats had the best player on the field and he was a freshman.
