There are only so many options, and I would take USU over both Nevada and Wyoming.Utah State just does not feel like PAC12 material. I put them about a tick above Wyoming and Nevada

I know quite a few people - both admin/ AD employees, and big donors (including quite a few younger such donors) at each. But I wouldn't call any of my knowledge "special," as you said twice - this knowledge is all pretty out in the open to anyone connected. Both Stanford and Berkeley will cling to the chance to be in a "power" conference for as long as humanly possible, and to the higher academic prestige of sharing a conference with ACC schools (despite Louisville) over the new PAC.Perhaps you are right. What special knowledge do you have? I am friends with former Stanford coaches and former AD. I was in the Vay Area all last week. Times have changed, even in last 6 months. They are not going to like the ACC and ACC is likely to go through some big changes. Their 30% share is very low. The travel costs and inconvenience will hurt them and their students. My Cal info comes only from longtime donors, who are now older. Feel free to tell us about all your special knowledge.
I'm feel like at the moment, the PAC's Plan A (Memphis and friends) fell through, and now their Plan B is looking shaky at best. In the end they may spend a ton of money for a slightly upgraded MWC.Utah State just does not feel like PAC12 material. I put them about a tick above Wyoming and Nevada
If the Pac-12 comes back as a good conference, it will be P5. So Stanford and Cal don't have to cling to something so far away. There are multiple weak schools in the ACC, and some of the top football schools may depart. Your "knowledge" appears old to me. I'm not talking about info out in the open. I'm talking about what the big boys are thinking.I know quite a few people - both admin/ AD employees, and big donors (including quite a few younger such donors) at each. Ultimately the money probably isn't a huge deal for OSU/WSU. They had no where to go and will see more money maintaining the PAC then leaving.I'm feel like at the moment, the PAC's Plan A (Memphis and friends) fell through, and now their Plan B is looking shaky at best. My knowledge is less than a day old. I communicate with some of the biggest donors at Berkeley nearly daily. Stanford, more like a couple times a month. Your information, however, definitely seems either dated, or not from the real movers and shakers (you did mention you talked more to older donors). If the Pac-12 comes back as a good conference, it will be P5. With the financial penalties that would be incurred leaving the ACC, I don't see either being in a position to leave for a decade. The only thing that could change that is the lawsuit that Clemson and FSU are pursuing. If the Pac-12 comes back as a good conference, it will be P5. There really is no one for them to go after. The Pac-12 should be looking for something bigger and better than these schools. Stanford/Cal probably wouldn't care to some back with those weaker athletic schools, and the weak academics except for Tulane.
On BS. I don't believe you. Talking to some of the biggest doors nearly daily. About athletic conference realignment. Ha.My knowledge is less than a day old. The new PAC is not, in any way shape or form, P5. That is a ridiculous take They will be lucky to get a media contract worth 7-8 million per school.
Depends on how these negotiations go. They are about to spend an enormous chunk of their war chest (they said they'd earmarked 65 million for realignment). Feels like that could possibly have been better invested than slightly upgrading the MWC.Ultimately the money probably isn't a huge deal for OSU/WSU. LOL. Ok big guy, whatever soothes your ego.On BS. I don't believe you.
What are the penalties for leaving? I think Clemson and FSU will cause things to loosen up. Saving $15 million or more a year on travel would make it easier to offset costs of departure. I'm guessing based on UCLA's increased travel numbers. With the financial penalties that would be incurred leaving the ACC, I don't see either being in a position to leave for a decade. According to Clemson's lawsuit against the ACC, the school would have to pay an estimated $140 million to leave the conference and forfeit its media rights through 2036. The total cost of leaving the ACC is estimated to be around $572 million. What are the penalties for leaving? I think Clemson and FSU will cause things to loosen up. You don't know where they will end up. Things are changing fast. They are still P5.My knowledge is less than a day old. I communicate with some of the biggest donors at Berkeley nearly daily. Stanford, more like a couple times a month. Your information, however, definitely seems either dated, or not from the real movers and shakers (you did mention you talked more to older donors).

I doubt that Stanford/Cal have big buyouts like Clemson. They have only a 30% share now. They aren't part of any new big tv contract, I assume.According to Clemson's lawsuit against the ACC, the school would have to pay an estimated $140 million to leave the conference and forfeit its media rights through 2036. In all honesty, I didn't expect a new PAC to be much more.Depends on how these negotiations go. They are about to spend an enormous chunk of their war chest (they said they'd earmarked 65 million for realignment). And I'm not trying to sound judgemental either. They swung for something bigger, it just seems they missed. Took a risk.
They literally are not P5 - they were stripped of their autonomous status earlier this year. Get with it.You don't know where they will end up. Things are changing fast. They are still P5.
Even 40% of that amount is a large barrier.I doubt that Stanford/Cal have big buyouts like Clemson. They have only a 30% share now. They aren't part of any new big tv contract, I assume.
My info is from last week when I was in the Bay Area for a week. You are the one with no contacts with the athletic movers and shakers. It shows in your posts.LOL. Ok big guy, whatever soothes your ego.
You have bad or old info. The real stuff ain't hard to find if you have any connections with the current movers and shakers. Doesn't seem you do.
