Good for Gonzaga! I’ve always really liked them. I know they probably won’t take St. Mary’s but that’d be cool to see them both in the PAC

Reports that Gonzaga will get a full distribution share despite not fielding a football team. Which is crazy.
It's how much the bball programs make. They bring in more money than Kansas bball between men's and women's programs. Over $20 million/year. Kind of a decent addition given what will be left in the PAC. It wouldn't surprise me if that is more money than some soon-to-be PAC schools' FB and BB combined.

Fans severely underestimate the value of the ncaa bb tournament to teams and conferences who actually, you know, don't have 11 teams with RPIs under 300

Exactly. Imagine how much $$ their shares bring in during their annual run to the final four...

26 straight NCAA basketball tournaments, Round of 32 22 times, the Sweet Sixteen 14 times, the Elite Eight 6 times, and the Final Four twice (both of which led to the title game). If I was rebuilding a nearly disbanded conference, that might be something I'd be interested in. But who knows? Maybe the PAC will back out of the deal and lean on WSU and OSU to carry the torch.

My bigger thought is what this will mean for the WCC if it goes through. GU has been doing the heavy lifting for a quarter century.

Rumors are UNLV and USU are the next big targets for the PAC, the potential Gonzaga add is to entice both from a Basketball standpoint.

Still hope it happens so we have a better chance to get the call up. Supposedly a few MWC schools haven't signed the garuntee to stick together yet:

If UNLV and USU leave, what's left?

Wyoming
Nevada
Hawaii
SJSU
UNLV (who may be next one to be picked off)

Would be:

SJSU
Hawaii
Wyoming
Air Force
UNM
Nevada

Air Force just signed a commitment to stay in the MWC as well. Would be easy to backfill with all the exit fees:

Montana
MSU
UTEP
NMSU
Idaho
Sac State

That's a pretty awesome Conference IMO. I'd also like to see the Dakota States as Football only members bringing the total to 14.
