I think the other pain point is that the security checks/ticket scans are a different experience depending on which gate you go through. For example, the west gate was getting queued up on the stairs, but you only spent about 7-10 minutes in line. They had two metal detectors, you could go through either one, they had a security officer about 3/4 steps past the metal detector then they had one(two?) tables for clear bag inspection. However, the security officer would get a visual on your clear bag as you were walking by. If you were good, they just waved you over to the people scanning the tickets. In addition to that they had 3 or 4 self ticket scanners. There was no removing of hats or anything like that.
