Waded Cruzado Announces her Retirement

I am an MSU grad since they have a great engineering program and UofM has well, none. I think Waded may be a very nice person and can seem very personable to the students but she does hide in her office a lot and only comes out enough to make it seem like she cares. Now the amount of complaints open doesn’t surprise me. I think the whole MSdUi thing has really put a damper on some things and various discrimination cases. The DUI cases were not handled properly and were covered up in the news. That being said some of the cases I would say are frivolous. I went to college with a fair amount of, to put it in the vanilla way, professional victims. There was a thread on here awhile back about a discrimination case where some group was supposedly discriminated against for something that occurred off campus and had nothing to do with MSU leadership. But to everyone’s point, I think she was given the golden handshake.

During her tenure she has led MSU in tremendous growth in enrollment, academic success, and new and improved academic and athletic facilities. Her legacy will be a record of success.
Apparently you missed my point. She was the beneficiary of a very favorable situation used her charm much like the used car salesperson she is to play upon the BOR and citizens of Montana to glorify her actions.
I think any modestly talented administrator could have filled in that role and the same growth would have occurred.
It was an avalanche about to happen and all she had to do was point to its beauty, graciously smile and and keep out of the way.
I seriously doubt that your 99 percent figure is accurate as is your figure of 17,000 enrolled..

Good post. Only thing I’d change is “beneficiary” is likely the word for which you were looking. Otherwise, I think you’re spot on.

Just out of curiosity, and boredom, I sniffed around the BOR Meeting Minutes, for July 25. All Executive Session, as it was annual review time for Cruzado, Bodnar, and Christian. Eighteen days later Waded announces her retirement. Hmm, what did you think happened behind those closed doors?🤔
Could this be a case of the BOR finally coming to their senses and issuing a " quit or be fired" ultimatum.

The 99% is just my OPINION of the result if a survey was taken of alumni, students, faculty and the Bozeman community that her legacy would be one of tremendous success. My opinion is based on heavy involvement at MSU and in the Bozeman community over the years of her tenure. Following is an article on MSU enrollment.

Enrollment always drops in the Spring, but that was a record also at 16,101. So enrollment for the year was between 16,000 and 17,000.

Do you live in Bozeman?

I am not as in touch with the community or the school as you are, but I have visited with two State professors and neither one was happy and comfortable there. In fact the one professor in architecture complained about MSU being " an under funded public institution."
Neither one mentioned let alone praised the administration.
As I have stated before, her success was the result of being in the right place at the right time and having charmed the BOR to think just how great she is.
