McDowell back in the portal

So who's going to the Spring game next week? And will it be televised? And I just saw the picture of Junior Bergen in a boot and those scooters to keep his leg up. I sure hope he heals up and it's nothing serious or something that doesn't turn serious. Go GRIZ!!!

Do you think McDowell played well in the playoffs, and in the last 3 games? How about the 2d half of the championship game? Kem's stats aren't cherrypicked in any respect. Here's what another Big Sky coach told me after the game. "He [McDowell] didn’t look like he wanted to be in the game Sunday from about 1/2 way through the 3rd Qtr till end of game."

Fortunately it’s a TEAM game. And we get to count ALL points scored, not just those by the offense. And fortunately Bobby built a team capable of scoring in all three phases of the game. Literally EVERY QB in the last 3 games underperformed their season stats. McDowell being no exception. But he managed to lead the team to wins in 2 of those last 3 games.

And Kem’s stats are the definition of cherry-picked. I’ll take the 2-1, and not worry about the rest, or how we got there.

I don’t know if this was what he was thinking, but really all he had to do last year was manage games, which he did well, and let the defense not have to make up for offensive mistakes. If he at all thinks he was the main reason the Griz made it to Frisco, he’s delusional. A limited but efficient passer, an excellent scrambler, and he didn’t turn the ball over. That’s acceptable for a team that had our defense last season, but with an average defense we are struggling to get a bye with Clifton and the offense.
With an average defense we weren’t getting a deep run, or probably not even INTO the playoffs, so it’s a moot point. We lose to Idaho, MSU and probably Sac.

You have some special insight on this that no one else has? Many expect Fife to win the starting job. We have a deep and capable QB room.
We have zero idea what we have in the QB room. ZERO. (Well, except for Vidlak. We know what we’ve got there.)

Even then there's potential room for Vidlak to improve, scheme tweaks due to personnel changes (probably less QB power run packages without McDowell) etc. As mentioned earlier Ahyat and Vidlak having extra years in the system definitely gives them the leg up going into Spring over Fife.

And as much as I personally am not a fan of the scheme we run the staff actually addressing the changes when needed after NAU gives me the confidence they will do the same this season if a change up at QB is needed.

Remember Cliff really had no significant playing time before he came to UM (except for maybe his JC year). Fife has played at a higher level and won games against good teams. He also turned back Minnesota to come here.

mcdowell was obviously injured the last couple games, at least. those twisting that into 'body language saying he didn't want to be there' are being absurd.
McDowell appears to have become your Jensen 2.0.

Good lord. Your posts have become comical. Comparing a guy who led the team to a NC appearance with a guy who left after his freshman season?

How practices have you attended? How many coaches have you talked to? How many players and parents have you talked to?

Please elaborate. How many collegiate passes, combined, has our QB room thrown? How many games, collectively, have they won? How many NC’s have they led their teams to?
They've thrown 271, completing 184. 68%. McDowell was 160-274 last season, for 58.4%. They've won 4 games.

So, the other qb's have thrown about the same number of passes as McDowell, but completed a much higher percentage. 68% to 58%. Ah Yet hasn't thrown a pick yet. They've had 7 starts, 4 of which were FBS. McDowell has started 12 FCS games. The UM qb's have participated in all of spring ball. McDowell only 5 spring ball practices.

Do you like accurate qb's? Or is 58% okay with you?

My opinion is that Fife was brought in because AH YAT is not ready to be the starter nor should he be. He will see playing time. In the 2025 season AH YAT should be the starter.

Remember Bobby reads my posts.

That's what they were hoping for but, Ah Yat is better.

58% is plenty accurate especially when you can add 50-100+ rushing yds pg as a QB... Lots of good QBs throw around that percentage.. also stats really don't compare unless the said players have had the exact same amount of snaps and played the exact same teams. 😂

I like going to NC games. Do you think any of those QB’s are going to lead us there?
