Man, I don't agree. It's clear you never played the game. And I know BH well.

Whoa. I've played plenty of football. Me and my neighbor growing up would take on anyone in front yard football.

Yeah, well my cousin and I would’ve creamed you guys. We too played in the front yard just in case a scout from the Seahawks decided to drive down our dead end street.

Everyone on this board knows PR only counts those that played college ball. Anyone outside of that has no clue what they’re talking about.

My brother once badly overthrew me in the end zone (past the end of the rhody, but before the large arborvitae). I leapt as high as I could, deflected the ball about 5 feet behind me, and then laid full out snaring the ball inches from the ground, while landing precariously close to the prickly branches of the aforementioned arborvitae. Keeping it a buck, that shit was ESPN Top 10 worthy, if only anyone knew what that even was.

adjectiveINFORMAL
self-important; arrogant.
"an uppity sister-in-law"

Coaches don't have a spine. BH needs to explain this one. These uppity players should have been told to hit the road, get the f*** out! Zac gets screwed. He stuck with the Griz, and they stuck him. I hope the Crews family sues UM. Oh, well, one less fan won't be noticed. Needless to say, but donations NOT! But I'm not Dennis Washington either, so PHTTTTT! Hey, UM, this ones for you. :finger:

Uppity.....interesting choice of words given the context of this thread.

Since we are regaling the population with our backyard football stories...

One time...not at band camp..

My friends and I were playing football in the back of one of my friends yard. He sent me on a go route, I running (just faster than the Wisconsin ice sheet), managed to hit a fence post (one of those green ones you hammer in) full gait. Bent it in half, and managed to drop the football but I did get a knee that swelled up the size of a football in return. So I had that going for me which was nice.

I just drank a soda, pretended the massive swelling around my knee or the noticeable crease on my patella was no big deal, and went upon my day. If there was a NOT top 10 back then, that would have most undoubtedly been the top play of the week.

I bet if you would've played the in FRONT yard, a scout would've seen it and noted your hardiness.

"Willing to put his body on the line to make a play. Above average positional speed. Below average hands, but will play hurt if needed. Project player who could be worth the risk with the right coaching."

What could have been . . .

The number of things we did as kids, in the specter of pretending to be athletic greats, that nearly got us killed could fill several tomes. I've got literal novels from my exploits playing basketball in my driveway.

And yes, I would be in traction for months if I attempted to execute the moves that I attempted in my youth. I tear a hamstring just bending down to get a piece of paper off the floor.

And yet multiple posters have asked those who claim adamantly that I’m wrong to tell all of us what DID happen then. Radio silence.

Just makes one wonder. And not to speak for Sac and the others who are more than capable of doing so themselves, but it seems that’s where the confusion comes in.

Radio silence? You have 23,000 more posts than me and I have a life. Patience. Why did I call you out: because you made is sound like Zac did more wrong than the Venmo. Or that Zac didn't fulfill some sort of obligation.

Anyway, here it is. Zac had an offer. Was told it was good but would be silent and delayed. Other schools continued to recruit him even after the Venmo. Zac stuck with UM. Signing day happened. The Kaimen article appeared months later. A small group approached the coach and said him or them. The coaches asked if they would meet him or mentor him. They declined. Offer gone. Other schools don't have scholarships right now.

I don't find fault with the players or coaches. It is what it is. Zac is a good kid (albeit a trash talker) who I don't find at all racist and I'm making this claim from a larger body of work - not just an out-of-context Venmo. Can we let it go now and let everyone get on with their lives? Or do you need more blood?

When you are not the subject of said racism you have no footing about what is or is not racist. What he posted on Venmo would absolutely not have been posted by someone who is "not racist." The post stands alone and speaks for itself. Crews could have explained the context of the post if, as you say, it really was taken out of context but he didn't. He only posted an apology because he was called out and he knew that the post was defamatory at the least. All your post above tells me is that you think that some threshold of racism is acceptable, at least if it is not outwardly blatant and therein lies the problem in our society for addressing this issue.

As to whether he should have been allowed to join the team, I have no opinion on that but we are where we are and, as you say, it is what it is.

Buddy, as a sixth-grader, I performed Dream Shakes in the driveway by myself for Sonics scouts who would drive by any minute. I think one drove by once, but I missed the easy bank shot and my chance. Yeah, it could’ve been Mrs. Underwood’s son driving from Washington to visit her, but it was a Sonics scout damnit. I have no doubt missing that shot is the sole reason I didn’t play center in the NBA.

Why don't you take your own advice? "When you are not the subject of said racism you have no footing about what is or is not racist." You have no footing to comment. I assume you are not even a POC. Probably just a POS.

Who are these Sonics you speak of.....? 😆

My prowess as a qb could get so many people to jump offsides with my "down, set, smoke a cigarette" snap count. The kids these days don't even know what that means these days as they go with "down, set 8...set 8...hit your vape...."

No, you are wrong and have proven by your numerous comments that just because you are a person of color, you obviously have no understanding how a good many black people feel about the N word. I shared these last time and I’ll share em again. This is how black people feel about white people using the N word.

In graduation news, Zac graduated with a 4.0. Very doubtful that many egriz posters did the same.

Doesn't that qualify him for 4 years of free tuition (MUS) at any of the in state schools unless that has changed in the last couple of years.

They combine GPA and ACT. So if he has a 30+ ACT, he would likely qualify for the MUS scholarship.

Alabama, you (or maybe it was Everett) said the N would was racist. I said it wasn't racist; it depended on the context in which it was used. You then said some/many blacks use the N word at times, and provided your citations. You proved my point. You also jumped all over me, for what, I don't know. This is what I said when you jumped me: "I don't agree that the word is racist. Lots of people use it without being racist."

Do you even know what you think, or what you are talking about? I know a thousand times more about racism than you do.
