YOTES GAME DAY THREAD

Offense has shot themselves in the foot on the last two drives. Need a big stop here to keep USD from scoring before half, especially since they get the ball to start the second half
 
I will say this, a better passing team could have exploited this defense a few times today. Several times there have been sure touchdowns for south dakota if the ball is on the money
 
Mixed feelings on this first half. We played so well to start but the offense has started to shoot itself in the foot, and now the defense is giving up yards in big chunks. Dammit
 
Positives from the first half
-defense pitched another shutout
-running game got going and the offensive line has played very well

Negatives
- we once again start hot on offense only to go vanilla once we have a small lead,
- the offense shot itself in the foot on three of their final four drives of the half
- the turnover in the red zone sucked the life out of the offense apparently, who I think had only one 1st down after that
 
First half is about what I expected. We are clearly the superior team. Easy to nitpick but I’ll take it. Bummer fumble, would probably sealed it for us at that point in the game. Very confident in the defense though!

South Dakota has a great secondary.

But I don't recall us going to the tight ends last week either. As far as I can tell from last week's stats, there was only one catch by a tight end, Grossman, as well. Last year I recall the tight ends being heavily involved in the passing game.

The offensive line in general has a bit of a chip on its shoulder today. Hope they can dominate the second half. I think we’re good with one more score. I don’t see this defense giving up more than 14 points in a half, so I’m thinking one more Griz score wins it
 
I'm really mixed on the offense and OL the 1st half. The 1st quarter, the OL held the LOS, the backs had room. The 2nd quarter, I feel USD won the LOS.

Really difficult to evaluate the passing game. Pass blocking was goof enough for Lucas to make decisions. Yet, he was either running early or not enough time for progression reads.

We have to attack the middle 3rd some in the passing game.
