Well, one writer agrees with me...

Article says Tru was snubbed for the Pro Bowl

That's my point... People other than Egriz pay attention...

He still may sneak in if with injuries etc...I hope Tru can get to the Pro Bowl he sure as hell deserves it after the season hes put together

Tru is now the top CB in passer rating allowed in the NFL, 3rd in INT (2nd for CB's) and is the top career interceptor from the 2012 draft class, yet no prow bowl?

He's really putting together a Pro Bowl season.

He is a good guy and my son's favorite player. My son had a chance to meet him when he was about 6 years old. Tru was so good with him chatting him up and signing an autograph. It put a smile on his face and he is a big fan of the Rams now so that he can watch Tru and Chase.

I know that Tru rubbed some people the wrong way with his antics when he played here, but I will never forget how he treated kids like my boy. He showed me a genuinely good hearted person.

Griz nation should be proud of the representation we have in the league. All very good character guys that have worked hard to make a place for themselves in the league. It is a lot of fun to watch the games every Sunday and see these guys compete, even if it is on ST or as rotational players.

thats racist

?????

Sorry inside joke I guess. Alpha called me a racist for suggesting Trumaine was the best player we had in the past 10 years

I would argue the point a bit differently: that Tru has having the best year any Griz player has had in 10 years. But one year does not a "best player" make. If that were the case Mariani has just as good of an argument for his pro-bowl (and pro bowl MVP) season.

There was really not a lot of indication prior to this year that Tru would break out and have the kind of year he's having. If he can put together 2-3 more years with this type of consistency THEN I would unequivocally say he's the best player we've had in even more than the past 10 years.

No. You don't understand. I was calling him the best player when he was here. If you want to argue that point then that's just a matter of opinion.

As far as the pros go I think this year he has had is equivalent to Mariani's Pro bowl year. Just because we as griz nation got out and voted mariani in the pro bowl and basically ignored tru doesn't mean tru didn't have an amazing season. Remember Marc is really only on his 3rd productive season. Only 2 of those were actually good seasons as far as the NFL goes and that was the 2 years returning for the titans. Tru is ALSO on his 3rd productive season. And it's his best so far.

I think Griz nation just forgets about tru because he's not from Montana. Fact is he is the best griz player in the NFL right now and it's not even close.

I hate to break it to you guys, (I am a big Mariani supporter as well) but the only player that possibly holds a candle to Tru would maybe be Scott Gragg. Having a season and career like Tru has (most career INT's for his draft class, top QB passer rating against in the NFL this season) can't really compare to a couple of untouched TD returns that featured great blocking. Again i'm not trying to knock MM but Tru is playing a premiere defensive position as well or better than anyone in the league right now. He's the best talent UM has ever produced and maybe ever will.

Tru is having a great year, no doubt, but you'd have to say that Doug Betters had the best season in the NFL of any former Griz.

Quoting Wikipedia: "In 1983, Betters recorded 16 sacks in 16 games and won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year Award...."

Betters was the first person I thought of when I read stump towns post.

I get the Betters argument but he transferred to Reno after his first two seasons with UM so I don't hold him in the same regard as 4 or 5 year Griz. That would be like saying Jeff Choate was a better Griz than Tuff Harris because he got more NFL playing time even though Choate only spent a year or two at UM before transferring to Sand Diego State. Nobody brings up Choate as one of our better DB's in recent history because he left the program. I would bet that if Choate gained more notoriety on and off the field, that more Griz fans would be claiming him as a UM guy. Just my opinion.

Wtf? Dude, I realize it's the internet and all but you just can't go around spreading those types of rumors or the puddytat fans will start believing it

Oops never mind. For some reason when I read your post I thought you were talking about the new pussy coach, Harry Choade. Sorry

   I meant Jeff SHOATE not Jeff Choade. I remember he was one of my favorite young players to come to the Griz in a long time but transferred back to be close to home and with his son or daughter (I think?) Was a tough decision for him because he was loving UM and having a ton of success early. Played really well for Diego State and was a 5th round draft pick.

EDIT: Here is an old article on SHOATE http://missoulian.com/shoate-a-man-among-boys/article_e2ed653b-2179-51e8-8627-c23f9a2c0254.html
