or the theatre/opera
Some of the best screaming I've ever heard has been in opera houses...real fans that appreciate it stand and cheer a lot...and, In Europe, very vocal when the performance is bad....people my age, 68, should not blocking anything that exists thefor the students...the seating at Dahlberg looks weird on tv..wide aisles give it a small appearance while present student situation looks crowded. Move the students to the old folks side...that would give some excitement..

Uh... The conversations are definitely different on the Basketball board versus the Football board. ;)
well, generally that's true. But, confrontation is too easy on the net and most times I pass it up, but, as we know, sometimes you just hit a limit of mindless cyber shots..alas. Still, I think older people often forget that the sports programs at the U are for the students, first, then the alumni, then the public...students should have priority seating, especially for championship events...Sadly, for this upcoming Men's championship game, I can't watch live...my carrier does not have espnU and the link you provide has too many popups and new sites....alas....

God. Someone helps you out and you bitch.

Go to a bar and watch the game.

It's pretty geriatric up around us in 202, but hopefully they can get into it tonight. They are nice sweet old people, but hopefully they get a little tuned up and a spark lit under then.

If you're lucky, perhaps you can find a feisty little old lady decked out in Griz gear among them. In my experience, it only takes a little encouragement to get her hollering, waving flags, and prodding the rest of the oldsters to join in. Such jewels are too damn old (they themselves say) to worry about looking "undignified" in the name of fun. It can't be continuous -- there are physical limits -- but they can help during crucial moments.

Add: The wife reminded me of an incident at an ISU game. We sat near a feisty oldster -- a Bengal fan, but that's irrelevant -- who got cranked up when her team did something good. It was hilarious to watch the grand-kids (great-grand-kids?) acting embarrassed and trying to shush her. She told them, in no uncertain terms, to "get over it" ... and to show a little support for the home team. She did finally get tired and quieted down, but went at it again when the Bengals made a late-game rally.

I was at a Griz football game a couple years ago and sat in some seats from a friend in the "old people" section. About 3 people down from me was this old couple, probably late 60's or early 70's (no offense Grizo), and they were a riot. They would prod the other oldies and cheer as much as they could. I asked them as we were leaving after the game why they were so rowdy while others just sat on their hands and this was her response: "We are old and don't care what others think. We do as we please and if someone doesn't like us making noise or standing up cheering, what are they going to do? Yell at a couple of old fogies?" I just about died laughing. There are good eggs in those sections, just not enough of them.

Maybe someone should ask them to tailgate for a little while before the game. Get a couple of drinks in them, get to know each other a little. I think old folks sometimes just forget to have fun at an event like this and sit around worring that they have to go to the bathroom every 5 minutes. You might be able to win them over and make a few friends.

If not, ask them if you can rub their old bald head for luck.

It's all about how you caress it. Fine line between creepy and lucky. Must have crossed the line. ;)

C'mon stubbins, you know you grabbed a boob.

as long as they were yelling at greenie, the accused are innocent. if they weren't yelling at greenie ..., guilty as charged.

How about the people yelling/screaming at people in front of them to sit down. What is wrong with some fans?

UM is winning in front of a large and fairly loud/good crowd, Tinkle is standing and waving his arms to get people to stand up and cheer, and some people down in the corner are yelling/screaming at someone in front of them to sit down. What's with that?

Seriously, with 40 seconds left in the game tonight, people in row 1/2 are yelling at a guy (who turned out to be a former UM hoops player) sitting in the court side chairs to sit down. The guy and his friend just walked out.

Just when the team is becoming successful, and the crowd is coming back and getting more into the games, UM has some "fans" who are acting like this. They are potentially driving away good fans. They are hurting the atmosphere. I was told these same people have complained about people in their row leaning too far forward. They should be banned to the sky club, or to their rocking chairs at home.
This will probably be the only thing you and I ever agree on, but you are exactly right!!!!! If you can't get on your feet to support your team than get the hell out!

Much better tonight....that was fun and rowdy. I heard people tell other people to sit down, but tonight they just got the "you've got to be kidding" and absolutely would not sit down.

Great job dahlberg. Wish I could hear what it sounded like on tv, cause it was rocking the whole second half.

Could we please get an update on the number of old people who told other people to sit down, and how that situation was resolved? Thanks. Also, if you have any HD replays, that would be sweet.

Being the subject of the original thread of in this post, I want to thank you guys. I stood up virtually 3/4 of the entire the game from my floor seat and didn't hear a peep from the Silver Foxes behind me until they told me I had confetti in my hair after the post-game extravaganza! By FAR the most active and riotous Dahlberg crowd in recent memory, perhaps since the Krysko days when I was wee lad. I simply could not think of a better send off for this squad. Tonight, every time this team asked for our support, the crowd reciprocated in droves. It was evident the guys truly fed off the energy and its not a far stretch to say we were the difference. Truth be told, they've deserved a crowd like this for awhile now. I'm glad we could send out Mathias and Will on such a historic note. I just hope tonight has a ripple effect through the future of Griz basketball, as tonight very well could be just a preview of things to come. Thank you Griz fans, you truly made it a night to remember.

I did not read said thread yet. But, I will give my opinion..

I have never in my life, ever had someone tell me to sit down at a Grizzly event. However, if I did, my response would be simple..

Go Fu*k yourself..

But, I was raised by a mother who had a thing for Derrick Pope..so, take this with a grain of salt..

Lady next me at top of west202 told a young lady to sit down repeatedly. I was kind of pissed til I
Figured out it was a damn Weber fan she was yellin at. Damn Weeb was standing at all the wrong times! Anyone else still have ringing ears? That was as loud as I remember since LK played UW.

Did you kindly tell the old broad to go fu*k herself?

You pricks must not know how to deal with people..

Jack her her kid in the jaw, to show that you mean business..

Joksies, you twisted cocksuckerz......
